We came into the place and were amazed by the atmosphere. It is big, yet you feel it is really cozy. Staff were all very friendly, professional and could speak English. Had a wonderful bluefin tuna starter, cheese platter and a great t-bone steak. Definitely a place we would recommend to anyone coming to Santander!

This restaurant was part of the tapas tour and was great fun for our group. The bar is in the front part of the restaurant with a few side tables and the rest is all sit down tables. It's a bit crowded for a Tuesday night, but the wine and tapas made up for that, as well as the interesting... More

Riojano started in 1940 . No restaurant survives that long if it's not consistently excellent . Surprisingly the price is also very reasonable and unusual these days a large range of good wines without an extravagant price . Serves both meat snd fish and very good starters including croquettes and Iberian ham . Bar food also available ( in Bar... More

The dining room was very nice and interesting. All walls are decorated with wine barrels which have their leads painted. It was a hot evening but luckily the aircondition worked very well. The varity of dishes were very good. We tried oxtail stew and jowls from cow which both were delicious. The staff was attentive and gave us a very... More

I had been to this place with my granddad some 45 years ago. This time we came with our cousins to celebrate our getting together after many years. I had the greatest surprise, I remembered the place being good, but not this good. What a feast, all dishes were delicious, the quality of their cuisine is superlative, up to par... More

Place is uncommonly picturesque and setting really unique, with its bizarre decorations and almost medieval architecture! Food and dishes are fairly attractive, and list of wines is satisfactory. Seating is also comfortable. However, in the evening, it tends to be overfilled and becomes very noisy. The overall experience is rather interesting, and it would improve significantly if the size of... More

I have wanted to go to this place for a very long time and I wasn't disappointed. The food was great, the service very attentive. It was quite busy for a lunch time weekday but even so, the atmosphere was quiet and nobody seemed to be rushing. I loved the display of paintings in the walls using the leads of... More

In the evening there was couples, family and large groups so you need to book. Food is excellent and the Wine served by the... More

We had amazing high quality Spanish food at this beautiful restaurant. Having mainly had meat with chips (patatas fritas) for the past week in Spain, it was a real treat to have food like this. One of our starters of scorpion fish which came as a form of pate was outstanding. My main, which was oxtail, was presented beautiful and... More
