We visited Poco Loco on our first evening in Puerto De La Cruz. It is a small restaurant with charming decor and a wide variety of items on the menu. We weren’t sure what to expect as the prices were so cheap but it DID...NOT DISAPPOINT! I highly recommend the margaritas, they come in 1/2 litre or full litre jugs and I got 6 full glasses from the 1/2. The strawberry flavour is so good! We had nachos to start and the portion was huge, plenty enough to share then fajitas and burritos which were both delicious. I would highly recommend a visit to this little restaurant, it’s well worth the walk up the hill. For 2 desperados, 1/2 litre of margarita, nachos, burritos and fajitas we paid €28, it’s so cheap but so delicious.More
Very disappointing experience this time, the last time we were there (4 years ago) we gave them 4 points and everything was good that time, but now everything was wrong.
The service was incredibly poor, they removed the menu card before we finished ordering. I...had only just ordered a starter and we had asked for some of the dishes.
My starter that consisted of Nacho was cold and looked almost like it had been made several hours ago. When I finished it they came with 3 dishes that we had not ordered since we had only ordered my starter.
They subsequently came up with 3 dishes, one of which was wrong, I had ordered fajitas with chicken, but got it with beef, I went out to the kitchen and explained to them that it was a mistake when they finally came up with the right ones, the tortillas had become cold. We ordered Sol beer but they had no more of them so Corona got instead, they tasted like they had been in the sun for too long. Definitely a bad experience.
They were more interested in serving the local guests. They seemed sour and that did not indicate that they liked their job. The food was tasteless, seemed like cheap canteen food.
We were there 2 times on this holiday and both times it was tasteless. 4 years ago they got 4 points, but do not know what happened to the place, it only turns into 1 point this time. The food, service was downright bad.
More
Loved this restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and well presented. The restaurant had a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. We even had free tequila after our meal. Highly recommended.
We had an amazing meal last night. The restaurant is tucked away up
A hill with no views but the authentically Mexican surroundings more than make up
For it , it’s rustic charm added to the buzzing atmosphere and it was very reasonably priced. The...kids loved the non alcoholic margaritas and we loved the alcoholic one tooMore
I guess I had too high expectations for mexican food. I thought it would be spicy, hot and very tasteful. But it wasn't :/ Vegetables were soft as if they had been melt from deep freezer, margarita was more like ice cream without alcohol, pajarito...tasted like tastless sausage etc. I've tried many mexican restaurants and this was the worst ever.More
Mexican is one of my favourites so was looking forward to this meal. We had to wait while the restaurant set up. Table in quaint courtyard. Ordered the set menu on the back of the menu card, even the English menu didn’t give much explanation...for dishes. Enjoyed all of the food presented and a good selection with enough dips given for each. However, the margarita did not taste like it had much alcohol in and service was slow with our dirty plates sitting there for ages. Also had to get up and ask re desserts and for bill.More
