We slightly fell upon this unassuming restaurant by mistake but are all so glad we did. The team were delightful, hospitable and were kind enough to amend the menu at very short notice, and with no irritation, to accommodate one of our party who was allergic to fish..
The main restaurant is small, lovely open-roofed courtyard, tucked away in a small residential street in the middle of Sa Pablo. We were greeted with a glass of Cava, and then had 7 delicious courses: the hake, filet beef and the trio of puddings (mini white chocolate syllabub, raspberry ice cream, and chocolate brownie supported by a local fortified wine) were the highlights.
At only €36 per person for a tasting menus made up of 7 delicious dishes and accompanied by a wine list of very reasonably priced, local wines the whole evening was outstanding.
Each of the courses was explained, was beautifully presented and was delicious - no plate was anything other than completely empty. What made it even better was that the menu wasn't trying to show off so the flavours and the local ingredients were allowed to shine...and they did so wonderfully
This restaurant was fabulous and is highly recommended.

A cosy restaurant with a beautiful small courtyard, and indoor room tucked away inconspicuously in Sa Pablo. Greeted with a glass of Cava, and then followed by 6 glorious courses of delicious dishes. On our first night we were treated to cold melon soup with basil and mascarpone, octopus with caviar, seafood risotto, Hale on bed of seasonal vegetables, intermediate cleanser of lemon, fresh mint, blueberry, and cava, Lamb rack and couscous, and at Rio of desserts, mini banoffee pie, cinnamon ice cream, and chocolate brownie. All excellent.
The wine choice was extensive and mainly local to the island.
All in all it really was faultless.
The house team were polite and hospitable.
The bill was a very pleasant surprise, and only €36 per person which in itself is outstanding.
This restaurant deserves great applause and is highly recommended.

This was the highlight meal of our 3-week trip to Mallorca - highly recommended!!!! Hidden on a corner in a small town 35 minutes north of Palma, you enter a special world as soon as you walk into the covered courtyards designed with a feminine touch and a treat to the eyes. The cooks from Valencia and Barcelona are artists to the highest degree. The 6-course menu began with a glass of sparkling wine and moved from one taste delight to the next. Each course is an art piece in and of itself, served on different sizes and shape of plates, designed for both the eyes and the palate, absolutely delicious. You can order in advance a fish/vegetarian option if you don't eat meat. And the dessert finale leaves your mouth watering. Definitely worth a visit, and book in advance, as they are only open on extended weekends.

Wow. What a fabulous place. I hesitate to use the expression taster menu as we are generally not fans of the overpriced frippery associated with many such ordeals. This was 6 courses of delicious, authentic food served at a perfect tempo by lovely, knowledgeable yet unpretentious hosts.
And all for 42 Euros which included a glass of Cava.
The restaurant occupies a hidden courtyard behind an innocuous facade in San Pablo. One of Mallorca's hidden gems. Go there.

We found out about this restaurant by a local that was helping us plan our 2 weeks stay in Mallorca. We were so thankful for this recommendation as it was superb. They only do three seatings daily and once you experience it, you will understand why. The food, the presentation, the service and the ambience could not have been better!! From the moment you enter, you know it is something special. Their courtyard is beautiful and you are greeted by Cris, one of the owners and your server for this culinary delight!
Three starters, a fish dish, a sorbet palette cleanser, a meat dish and three desserts are all amazing!! Cris never rushes and allows each patron to enjoy the culinary experience. Her warmth is infectious and genuine. Her partner, the chef, is a master at making these dishes lead you through a beautiful journey of tastes.
Who would have guessed that our best meal of the two weeks in Mallorca would be in the small, unassuming local town of Sa Pobla but it was!
In our opinion, the price they charge is way too low for what you get!! Make sure to make a reservation as they fill up quickly but no matter where you are in Mallorca, do not miss dining at Mare Nostrum.
Thank you for a memorable meal that we still are raving about 3 weeks later!!

The pattern of the menu (three starters, a fish course, an intermezzo, a meat course and three desserts, preceded by a glass of cava, completed with sweet white wine and accompanied by a wide choice of Mallorcan wines) is the same as previous occasions but the variety of the dishes is ever changing. The chef conjures up wonderful flavours and every dish is beautifully presented. Cris hosts the meal with charm, discretion, understanding and brilliant descriptions of each course. We cannot fault this restaurant. A memorable experience and fantastic value for money - in the UK they’d be queuing round the block for a meal as good as this at twice the price.

we were introduced to Mare Nostrum by a friend in 2020 and we visited on eight occasions- food is delicious, innovative, artistically presented and bursts with wonderful flavours. How Toni cooks the ox cheek I don’t know but it is out of this world. The courtyard setting and ambience is delightful and Chris looks after guests impeccably with no hurry or fuss and nothing is too much trouble. we were in mallorca last week and found to our very great delight that the restaurant had survived Covid Lockdowns and is open for lunches. We had an amazing three hour lunch and look forward to returning next month.

Wow.
After some huge gastronomic let downs on the island I have to see this one really caught my attention.
From the outside you coudnt even tell its a restaurant.
Eventhough I have to say it was probably the longest afternoon lunch Ive ever had, this was price-quality wise an absolute gem.
We had 6 courses , an aperitivo, the most expensive bottle of red wine, water and twice the menu and we left with a 118 euros bill.
Worth every second of waiting! The service was impeccable.nice, friendly and warm.If we had more time we would go back straight away!!!
Happy to see quality is still present on the island!!!
Thank you so much for this experience!

We had a fabulous evening at this lovely little restaurant last week, relaxed, unhurried experience in a pretty courtyard setting, great service and beautifully presented and tasty dishes. The melon soup was outstanding! Each course was excellent, even the crockery the food was served on was so pretty! The local wines were incredible value for money and some of the best we have had on Mallorca! As others have said, it’s really a hidden gem in the middle of an industrial/farming town, so you need to taxi to appreciate, but great locally based lady taxi driver took us back to Pollenca at midnight! Highly recommend, and found the best way to communicate was via WhatsApp, had a reply the following day! Thanks for an amazing evening, we will be back!

Very nice restaurant. The food is excellently good and you taste it is made by food lovers. The restaurant is small and cosy and the staff very friendly. It’s a real dining treatment. We had 7 courses during the evening and before the first one every course was explained. Delicious desert also. Only one little comment: maybe the staff is a little bit too friendly. I complimented them a few times but didn’t get the feeling it really sank in.

A fantastic find. From opening the door of the restaurant we knew we had found a very special place and we were not disappointed . The food both looked and tasted stunning . The selection of local wines paired with each course was absolutely perfect too. Attention to every detail provided by the staff and such a wonderful place to dine. We recently ate at Rogan and Co Michelin-starred restaurant in the UK and our experience at Mare Nostrum was equally as good. An absolutely perfect afternoon .
Incredible value too with the the tasting menu and wine pairing for two costing €127.85.
We are staying in C’an Picofort and paid approximately €30 for the taxi booked by the hotel and slightly less for the taxi booked by the restaurant . A bus service is also available from the resort including on Sundays. Taxis arrived literally within a minute.

A real gem of a find! Very interesting tasting menu with a great selection of local wines available. Limited availability so early booking recommended. A rather austere exterior belies a very pleasant interior with fantastic staff really complement ing the great food. Will definitely revisit next time!

We were here again on a recent holiday to Puerto Pollença. We love Mare Nostrum and could not wait to return. We were so pleased to see they had survived the last year when the island had so few tourists visiting due to the pandemic. The restaurant is now only open for lunch rather than in the evening but that was absolutely fine for us and we chose the 3pm sitting. Every course of the wonderful menu was fantastic. Cris the owner is lovely and her business partner, who is the chef, makes the most wonderful delicious food. The fixed price menu is €36 a head. You receive a glass of cava and dessert wine in that price. Mare Nostrum has an extensive wine list with some excellent local choices. If you are visiting this area of Mallorca you should not miss having lunch at this wonderful restaurant. We’ll be back very soon!

This place is one of the best restaurants I've ever have dinner in, a total gem.
The room is gorgeous, warm and cozy, and set and lit with impecable taste.
The service is great, friendly and polite.
And the food...
The food is incredible. They offer a set menu for a very reasonable price that includes three brilliant starters (our blackfish rice was the best rice I'ever had) two mains, one fish and one meat, and three desserts.
The wine list is also very good, only local wines but really impressive.
Everything (and I mean everything) was amazing, and the evening was a triumph.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Mallorca, even if you have to drive from a distance, it is totally worth it.
We will definitively come back.

Excellent restaurant food with high demands, comfortable environment (a little too hot
for my taste). Everything was perfect except for the service, good for a tavern and not for a restaurant of this level. The waiter rudely interrupted to announce the dishes. A Lobster was ordered, the most expensive dish on the menu for which we had to ask for the right cutlery. When we arrive at the finished Astice... the waiter informs us that we could have asked for them first... there are no words.
