Until I wandered into a pleasantly warm and breezy welcome on the first floor I was not particularly impressed with La Gomera. But Salamander changed that for me. The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere were a real pleasure. I appreciated the honest and knowledgeable advice and settled for a simple starter of very tasty spinach croquettes and the recommendation of... More

Has to be the best restaurant in San Sebastián. We visited this restaurant twice during our visit. Fish and meat dishes are equally as good. Staff were friendly and efficient. Price was a little more expensive than other restaurants, but worth every penny.

My wife and I had a lovely evening in this unusual but comfortable and friendly restaurant. We had sea bass which was tremendous accompanied by a white Canarian wine as recommended by the waiter. A good choice. Thoroughly recommend it.

Second time this year for lunch to La Salamandra. Excellent food and dining experience. The service remains exceptional and the food whilst beautifully prepared and served is still wholesome and fresh.

Based upon the tripadvisor reviews we decided to visit La Salamandra. Based on the waiters recommendations we decided to go for a Ferrera red wine from Tenerife, a good choice. The service was really good, though deciding on today's special in regards to steaks this was sold out, as was the next suggestion from the waiter. Going for a steak... More

Having booked earlier in the day, we were greeted warmly on our arrival at 1st floor level. We had a couple of very good cocktails while we perused the quite adventurous menu. My wife had goat's cheese Ferraro Rochas ( I kid you not ! ) to start which were fantastic and put my very nice prawns in Roquefort sauce... More

but the food was wonderful. My fillet steak with roquefort sauce was so good I had to go back and have it again the next night. Very pleasant staff with English speaking boss.

This restaurant is situated on the 1st floor and has a sober interior. There is plenty of room in between the tables. Friendly and correct service. We had excellent local dishes for a starter. The white tuna that we had for main course was a bit dry however. The white wine that ordered by the glass was fine.

We visited this restaurant thrice, twice in the court for a glass and wine and a snack and once upstairs in the restaurant. Excellent service and good tasty food; I loved the stuffed peppers and the ravioli type dish ( pasta stuffed with mushrooms) my husband had the grilled tuna. We liked the relaxed atmosphere along with being upstairs off... More
