When we are in Palma we often head for La Botana With shabby chic painted table and chairs, this unassuming restaurant serves up a variety of tasty tapas. You can order from the menu or pick up a plate from the bar. The number of...cocktail sticks is added up for the bill. Throw in a few small beers and this is an excellent place for a quick tapas lunch.More

This is the place for great reasonable pinchos in Palma. Great selection and high quality. You can either pick from the bar area or order them directly from the menu. I recommend the entrecôte and fried goat cheese as well as the fried Camembert. You...will not be disappointed. This place is very busy during peak hours so order a bottle of wine and be patient. If you waiting for something good it is well worth it.More

Absolutely loved this place! We went to the La Botana in the Old Town several times during our stay. It was great food - lots of choices -very inexpensive - friendly service & a really enjoyable atmosphere - locals having fun with friends and enjoying...lively conversations. We felt incredibly welcome! Tiramisu was the best we had on the island - hands down!More

The title says it all. We turned up outside this unassuming restaurant, down a quiet side street and almost carried on by. Glad we didn't. We had a lovely dinner. Stunning tapas and cheap as chips :) Thoroughly recommend a visit

my fiends recently organised by birtdhay dinner at this yummy restaurant, The food was the typical Spanish tapas but very delicious and very good quality tapas. The staff are extremely run off their feet but still manage to be very friendly and attentive. Once the...food is ordered it comes out after a moderate wait but once the first dish comes out its at a fast pace for the next few dishes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you wish to try the typical Spanish cuisine. Definitely a must!!More

We found this tapas restaurant completely by accident not being able to get into Tast which was full. The atmosphere and food were fantastic the selection of pinchos were varied and very imaginative and the tapas themselves delicious. A further lunchtime visit proved to be...equally enjoyable and the prices were very reasonable and staff extremely helpfulMore

We were taken here by a friend on a Thursday night at about 11pm. This is just about the most amazing tapas restaurant we have ever eaten in! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is brilliant. If you are looking for...a late night meal or snack in Palma this is the place to go.More

I cannot say enough good things about La Botana. Delicious. Fun. Great service. Friendly. Local vibes and local pricing. Rich flavor and vibrant colorful food. I hope I get the chance to go back!! I recommend the smothered crispy peppers from the appetizers section. I...cannot remember the exact name of them. Delicious!!!More

We found this restaurant 2 years ago, when it was called the Lizarran. Although close to the centre of Palma the prices are extremely reasonable, and the food, especially the tapas is tasty and varied. The only problem I find is stopping going back for...just one more. The clientele is varied, but mostly Spanish, which I think is a recommendation in itself. Much better than the overpriced tourist traps not far away..More

We were in Mallorca for holidays end of April and we spent one day in Palma, visiting the old town. We stop in La Oliva as it was on our way (very close to the mail pedestrian zone) for lunch. The restaurant is small, so...do not be surprise if it is full, but if you have a bit of time, it is worth of waiting few moments. The food is really freshly made and the service is excellent. Very friendly and relaxing (no stress or hurry). P.S. Try chocolate cake and home made coffee.More

No nonsense place in style or service. Two gentlemen on the front serving and waiting. Direct and effcient. Good food, either tapas you get by selfservice at the bar or table service with other dishes too. I went twice and had tapas as starter and...meat afterwards. Again all as it all should be. Wine by the glass, I took a crianza , tasted good. Prices are correct. Travelling alone it was nice that one good take half portions of certain tapas (like the good tasting pimientos del padron) thus making it possible to enjoy several tapas. The place is well visited by all kind of nationalities but a big part are the spanish locals too.More

This seems to be a fairly new place modelled on a traditional bodega- it really works. You pick self service tapas of exceptionally high quality (morcilla, spinach and nutmeg cream, sobrasada, seafood-you name it). Each tapa comes on a wooden skewer and at the end...they count then up and charge just over one euro each. We were vastly greedy and also had main dishes of oxtail which was beautifully cooked. We also had a great deal to drink.....it was really good value, good fun too. Highly recommended.More

We went to this place looking for Lizarran, which is a self service tapas bar chain, as this was the address on the website. We got here and couldn't find the place and thought it must have closed down. The addresses of both Lizarrans restaurants...in Palma are the same as both of the La Botana restaurants and the menu is identical, so i'm guessing that Lizarrans has probably been bought out? Anyway - this place is amazing value. Not a super flsh place or anything, just a nice casual restaurant/bar. The staff were very friendly and attentive and spoke ok English nd were happy to heat any tapas up as well. They have a menu which you can order various dishes from with half portions or full portions, or you can help yourself to the bar tapas at only 1.15 euro each which they keep firing out as the disappear! Great value with a huge variety - Fish, Chicken, pork, beef, Vegetable, Cheese, Salad etc etc. I am a big eater and 10 of these filled me up at a total cost of 11.15 euro, amazing value! All up we had a soft drink, beer, half litre of sangria and 16 tapas between two of us for 25 euro! Wish we had discovered this place before our last night in Mallorca!! Highly recommended.More

We were looking for somewhere with tapas and came across this restaurant where we had good tapas also some other dishes from their menu. This was a very friendly place so we went back on the Saturday night and were surprised to see the place...quiet but this turned out as the big football teams were playing and being televised. We had another very reasonably priced meal with wine. Certainly worth a visit.More

When you visit a new city you want to view all the attractions and you almost forget about the food. Well, it happened to us and when we noticed that we were starving, we started the search for a restaurant. A lot of them was...already closed for the siesta since it was three in the afternoon and, on a small street called Carrer Can Brondo, we found the La Botana. It had a rustic feel and was very pleasant. I must say that the waiters were not particularly nice but I think we got the most nice of them. After some struggling with the menu, we finally decided and we didn't had to wait too much for our dishes (about 15 minutes). The food... well not being the best of my life was awesome. My beef was perfectly cooked and was amazingly tasty and my girlfriend salad was superb. One of the best she had, on her own words. They even worried about the fact she is celiac and they have made small changes like sauces and some ingredients so that she could eat it without problems. Definitely a must go.More
