Visit on Monday Dec 28th 2015. 2 adults. Lunch time. Small restaurant with only 6 tables in the main room, but plenty of space and independence between the tables. Crockery, glassware and linen (very white to contrast with the darkness of floor and walls) beatiful, varied and adequated. Very professional service. Attentive and served at a very good pace. We... Tasting menu 7 courses with bt of wine €49.50 per person. No menu, chefs choice, but dietary needs or dislikes catered for. Course after course of interesting dishes, all same amazing quality! Very friendly & helpful owner, with great staff Obviously care more for a love of food than profit. Great ambience too, in well decorated modern space with very... More

We have been a couple of times in this restaurant during a visit to Vitoria. The restaurant offers a tasting menu that can be adapted to client's needs. The bigger menu has 7 courses + 3 desserts (49.50 + VAT) and the smaller menu has 5 courses + 2 desserts (38.50 + VAT). All courses are in small plates and... More

El Clarete is an absolute must visit in Vitoria-Gasteiz. It offers real Basque pintxos with a creative twist to it. Definitely worth trying are the so-called cucharas or spoons filled with a delicious topping. It isn't cheap compared to other pintxo bars, but it is still very affordable for the added quality they serve. I did not take a full... More

We had a fantastic meal in El Clarete. You take your seat and staff bring you course after course of top quality food. It is kind of like a tasting menu but the portions are larger. My wife doesn't eat meat but the kitchen were brilliant in bringing out additional fish courses. Also lovely bread and wine (included in the... More

A friend who is a chef in the Basque Country recommended this, and we were NOT disappointed. The interior is nicely furnished, small, and intimate. The owner/host speaks good English, has a huge smile, and instantly makes you feel welcome. There is no menu: you just take what they offer that day, with consideration given to food allergies, etc by... More

We stopped here for lunch on a Monday and I have to say we were very nicely surprised. The restaurant has a degustation menu where you choose between "smaller" or "larger". We chose the smaller version and were treated to 5 amazingly good dishes. The portions were just right for lunch. The wine was very good and everything was super... More

This restaurant doesn't have a menu, you have to take the surprise degustation menu, as described before. So everyone goes through the same process. In the price included is the standard wine, and you pay the difference to the wine you select from the wine list. This is not a wine pairing with different wines for each course (there are... More
