Good place with a tapas bar on one side and a more formal restaurant on the other. We opted for the formal after it was recommended by a bartender in another joint as a good choice for fish. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Food did not disappoint. Wine was good and cheap.

Although there is a large selection of pintxos in this very busy bar we instead opted to have a traditional Basque meal for lunch. With the assistance of a very helpful waitress I opted for a starter of kidney bean soup with chorizo sausage followed by a main of roast rabbit with potatoe washed down with a bottle of Rioja.... Classic tapas, with lots of hams hanging from the ceiling, as well as a beer pull shaped like a leg of ham. The food was classic tapas, with everything being freshly prepared, the smell of the baking bread infused the restaurant while we were there. Service was quite efficient. Wonderful way to try all the typical Basque pinchos.

We dined here in late June this year. The restaurant is in a sideroom off a tapa bar in the old city. The tapa bar looked very interesting but we had preferred a sit-down meal. We found the very busy proprietor in the tapa bar. He was attentive and seated us in the restaurant section in a timely manner. The... More

My husband and I visited on the recommendation from friends and it did not disappoint. The bar is casual and while there are tables, I'd recommend standing at the bar for the best experience. This place is all about the cured meat - from the shanks hanging from the curling to the beer tap, it's all about the jamon. Is... More

This restaurant is next to a lively pintxos (basque tapas) bar and serves great food. Local and exquisite. Every dish was perfection - even the green crunchy salad. The house white wine was great and the desert beautiful.

But one after another delicacy literally flows out, look at what others are eating and order But do not eat too much. Familiarize yourself with sherry drink, incredibly underestimated. San Sebastian has more to offer

Tried this bar on recommendation and reviews. Very disappointed - calamari was just awful - so tough and chewy and tasted as if fried in stale oil. Had Gernika green peppers which were good. Never had such a poor measure of wine ever in Spain - really barely a mouthful. So in all a very poor expensive experience - which... More

One of our favourite Pintxos Bars. Ham croquettes the best in San Sebastián. Their Iberico ham & ravioli to die for! And a glass of Muga... Would have happily eaten here everyday of our stay. Thank you to all the great staff at La Cepa
