What a wonderful experience! Beautiful restaurant with stunning views. A 3 star Michelin restaurant where the staff are relaxed and make you feel comfortable. Three different tasting menus plus a la carte. No rules and restrictions about ordering - these folks haven't forgotten you're the customer. Fantastic food, great service and lots of fun. Who could ask for more?

Very creative and fun. Food was delicious and service faultless. Better for lunch given the view. Had a kitchen tour and met chef. Good wine list but less extensive than one would imagine for a 3-star Michelin.

Don't get me wrong, food was good. but for 3 stars I expect much better! Little service glitches all along (no wardrobe?, no side stool for my wives bag, no extras mentioned off the menu, and so on...). Plus, the view is now over a huge ugly construction site! For a restaurant that is closed 1/2 year, could they not... More

We tried two different tasting menus paired with a well priced bottle of local white wine. A glass of red was offered when appropriate. As expected each course was inventive, creative, a little crazy and delicious. Dinner lasted a few hours and we enjoyed every minute.

The staff were fantastic and attentive, the meal was delicious and entertaining. We had a table by the window as we had requested which was great for the hour it was light outside! Pricey but worth the money. We were dressed up however there were an american couple on the camino trail in their smart walking gear who were greeted... More

Looks a bit like an 80s James Bond villains lair from the outside Inside the dining space is airy, super views out over the Atlantic - spectacular situation Classic degustation was a superbly constructed, cooked and served meal Wine choice was excellent and good value. Sommelier recommended glasses of spanish white for first few course and looked after the St... More

A restaurant that's a true testament to the reason behind Michelin Tyres rating restaurants. Called one day prior to arrival and luckily got a seat for 2. Took a 20 minute taxi ride from San Sebastián to sample 2 of the tasting menus with my husband. Ended up with 4 appetisers and 20 tasting dishes. All were absolutely amazing. Best... More

My recent trip to Spain was centred firmly around food. Probably like a lot of people do. I was lucky enough to eat at Mugaritz (#7), El Celler de Can Roca (#2), Asador Etxebarri (#10) Tickets (#29)... BUT in my humble opinion, this blew them all away. And it doesn't even feature on that particular list. I've read comments here... More

Akelare sits on a high hill / small mountain overlooking the ocean in arguably the best view in San Sebastian. Book at 19:00 or 19:30 to fully enjoy the gradual sunset....it's grand. The view is only the striking beginning. I'm not going to go into all the dishes, will save that for you - but know that this is not... More

Was a little disappointed with the food here. Amazing views and staff were friendly but tasting menu was a little underwhelming. Some dishes were excellent such as the beef fillet and the desserts but others were a little ordinary.
