It's amazing how reviews can make you want something so much. I've got to admit I'm not a cheesecake lover but having read about this on every food article even I was tempted..I went on a day that it wasn't that busy at 11 am...while there was a regatta in town. Let me tell you they are not lying about the rude service from an older gentleman. Maybe he hates tourists he pushed me out of the way twice and seated people behind, even when they said I was first. He shoved me near the bar and didn't let me sit even though there were seats. I sheepishly ate the cheesecake which by the way is nothing special or worth wasting your time in the queue for. It's just a big portion and I have nothing better to say about the actual dessert.More

Visited with my family recently to try the cheesecake. We found our waiter quite abrupt, we tried a few dishes, all mediocre-the cheesecake was the best thing on offer. After a couple of days I returned to get some cheesecake takeout for my family. I...arrived just as La Vina was opening. The chef/owner told me to wait outside - he then ignored me while he sloped his dirty bucket water out and rearranged his outside seating, he clearly wasn’t interested in my custom so I walked away. When I returned from my holiday I looked up the cheesecake recipe online, it turns out it ‘s actually very easy to make! If you do it yourself the cheesecake isn’t soured by La Vina’s sour staff.More

The burnt Basque cheesecake is fantastic, a must when you are in San Sebastián. Queues outside just to take a slice home, I might need to leave some clothes to take some home. Worth booking if you want to eat inside.

Worth the trip just to try the cheesecake, to take away, served up by a man who clearly loved his job - greatest attitude ever!

My husband and I had dinner here recently and it was so lovely. Bill came to £70.00 including a glass of wine, cava and beer and plenty of food! Really great staff, attentive and kind, definitely worth the visit.

I rarely review .. but this man was horrible! The man seating people not only allowed about a dozen people that were after us in line to be seated before us, because they were Basque or Spanish speaking.. he then called me a Lier and...joked to the rest of the line that I lied about my place in line ( in Spanish of course which I understood completely) What an ass! The food was not good and we only went due to the ratings and cheesecake which was NOT good at all!! Never again!More

The best and most recomended visiting the old part of the city is, without doubts, the cheese cake they make. I cant tell how many daily, but amazing taste and texture. I need the recipe please!!!
