We booked this for a group of 8, finishing off a Stag do that had been in the Rioja region for a festival. It was the perfect end! Whilst it is located slightly out the way of the main town square and we ate inside, the service was great (fluent English which is rare in Bilbao) and the food simply... More

Second time to Arandia and not disappointed. Took the 50 euro menu again comprising black pudding and mushrooms, home made foie gras, white asparagus stuffed with vegetables in mayonnaise, lovely plancha cooked shrimp and then finally, the star of the show, Txuleton beef - 1.5 kilos of sirloin served on the bone which had been seared in the kitchen, served... We read the reviews of other customers and thought that this must be a good place to eat, but it was truly amazing. We took a 42 (plus Taxes) menu, which included starter from the chef (really really nice black pudding and chilly mushrooms), fish stew (we were given a huge bowl full of the best fish stew we could... Past week we had a fantastic meal in Julen`s Arandia, and we really enjoyed his fantastic and typical basque beans, tasty and plently (the blood sausage is definitely unsurpassable). The crew was very professional and friendly. And everything in the old city. I`ve only one proposition: the dessert wasn`t as good as we expected for, best if next time we... More

This restaurant really is worth a visit. It is really charming, excellent value and the staff are so welcoming. We ordered a la carte and the Hake medallions were so delicious.Make sure you don't fill up with pinxtos before you go as the portions are very generous ! Wine is good value with a good choice ranging from the house... More

We had lots of different dishes, but the beans, we absolute loved them! The chef is a great person and waiters are also good fun. I would def. Recommend it to anyone, t-bone steak is probably the speciality but everything is so fresh and good. And the wine, rioja Viña Olabarri reserve was amazing as well. Cant wait to go... More

This has been our best restaurant so far in Bilbao. Copious portions, a larger selection than the usual Meat and Fish dishes in most restaurants. Hostess speaks 5 languages and is quite entertaining. Chef selects Menu fresh everyday from the amazing River Market just down the street.

We went there on a Saturday night during our long weekend in Bilbao. The place is hidden inside a small bar - at first we thought we were in the wrong place. Once we got in, the service was very personal and the food and wine was amazing. We went for the special restaurant menu and the number of dishes... More

We reserved a table for two through tripadvisor. The Restaurant is located in a quiet part of the old town. We arrived at 9:05pm and the restaurant just opened for dinner. We were the first guests to arrive and the host kindly let us choose a table that we liked. The decor and ambience of the restaurant were nice. We... More
