A small restaurant in a street adjacent the Guggenheim. Food was really good, portion are big and the staff is really friendly. We loved our dining experience there. Do not hesitate to go!

Excellent choice of fish and meats, and the choice of local white and red wines was superb. The staff is multilingual, efficient and friendly and make great suggestions and are very helpful in choosing the right wines of the region to accompany your food. Recommend a reservation during high season. Truly a great culinary experience when in Bilbao.

I visited this restaurant for the second summer in a row and again I have been seriously impressed by how this restaurant continues to impress me! Despite being a vegetarian, the options available were plentiful and the mushroom dish I had was breathtakingly good! Then I had the incredible pudding for a second year in a row, which was the... Due to the fact that our flight leaves early in the morning we were looking for a late lunch / early dinner. After walking around at 4.30pm we discovered most places were closing and would reopen at 7.30pm. We asked at our hotel reception and they recommend this restaurant and checked that it was open and would take us at... More

The tasting menu had promise of great things, but the delivery was not there. This type of cooking requires precision. The sauces were cold the, cucumber pearls on the oysters did not taste like anything. I sent back the fish course because it was really over cooked. The ideas are here but the execution was not. The good: Service was... More

What a treat! We looked up this place only because it was close to our hotel, but we ended up regretting not being able to come back a second time. The service was superb, with the waiter making sure every dish my girlfriend chose would be gluten free -- even going back to the kitchen once to be absolutely sure.... More

We decided after eating here in the summer of 2015 to stop in Bilbao this year, just to east here again! It was a great decision...a fantastic restaurant with an awesome range of gins. The food is superb, the service excellent and wine list very well crafted. Nothing to find fault with at all...please go and enjoy.

Having decided to give the inside of the art museum a miss we sought out a place to lunch. Porrue has black and chrome decor, cool and slick. We chose not to have a starter but were brought fab selection of bread and olive oil and shortly afterwards, a bowl of creamy cheese and asparagus soup. Delicious and not charged... More

After personal recommendations and reading the reviews, we were expecting an outstanding meal. Unfortunately, it wasn't. There was no welcome - no greeter because it's a small restaurant and no greeting when someone arrived to check our reservation. Our first real disappointment was when the "tasting menu" and the majority of the fish dishes were only available if they were... More

Really enjoyed our dinner at Porrue. The menu is very creative and leans towards both local cuisine and seafood. While not inexpensive, the portions are generous and quality of cooking and preparation Michelin mention worthy. All servers were great and ambience made for a relaxing and pleasant evening. Porrue is located a very short walk off the river promenade and... More
