Amazing pintxos! We were early around 7 pm and it was empty. Luckily we waited and went back. It was the best pintxos I have ever had even including San Sebastian.

In Spain we always enjoy tapas (pinxtos in Basque) as an alternative to a conventional meal. Having had trouble finding a good tapas bar we relied on TripAdvisor reviews. Then couldn't find this one on the map! We stumbled across it between the market and the bridge where the tram crosses the river. The variety was wide, with new dishes... More

The labels on the cold pintxos made the choice easier. The bar lady happily explained the ones that looked appetising to us but did not understand. Good cold beer and musto available. After the best of the best in San Sebastian we did not find anything that stood out, but both quality and variety at Irintzi were definitely well above... More

A wet day in Bilbao, Found this place which had some really tasty pintxos, at very reasonable prices. It seemed to us that a lot of locals were present which is a good sign.

One of our favourite places in Bilbao's Old Town. You can help yourself to as many plntxos as you please (no need to order them!). They have a great variety (meat, fish and vegetarian). All pintxos are described in both English and Spanish. Our favourites are "croqueta de txipiron" and "falafel".

Loved this restaurant. Tried many Pinxos in many fine bars but this beats them all. Great variety, freshly prepared and soo tasty. Highly recommend that you take the time to find this bar.

Irrintzi offers orignial pintxos in an "alternative atmosphere". Pintxos include duck and apple, fallafel, mini burgers... but also octopus with jamon and potatoes, cod puree with red pepper sauce. We had a few glasses of the local white wine (txakoli: bit acidic and very fresh).

Got there on Saturday night to find shutters locked and no sign of life. Website also closed. Was really looking forward to it...

Went on Monday afternoon. The weather was very wet, cold and windy. Not many people about. It felt cold inside with a few pinxtos on the bar. I think this would be much better at night because it all looks a little tatty and stark. The pinxtos are nice, but not too many to choose from. (Probably the time of... More
