Very fine decor , breakfast was the same pincho and coffee as elsewhere and the service was fine. It's certainly worth a visit for the decoration if not for a main meal.

This café has been here for many years, and the most striking thing about it is the décor: beautiful old tiles, Art Nouveau atmosphere, professional service, ... A great experience. The food is good, very reasonably priced, and the coffee here is better than in most Spanish cafés. iI's right in the centre of the new town, so very convenient.

An outstanding place to enjoy some tapas with local wines. The lamb skewers are excellent! Try the calamari too.

Café Iruna harks back to another age, the Bilbao of 100 years ago. It retains its charm, even thought it's very popular with tourists. It's a place to experience the tiled mosaics typical of Spanish cafes and tapas bars, along with some impressive candelabra and mirrors to add to the old-world atmosphere. We had drinks in the bar - a... More

A pittoresque place to see designed in the 1904 with old tiles and a special atmosphere. The place has two 2 sections, one is the typical bar with tapas and the other part has tables with waiter services. If crowded, it might take a while to be serviced and what you get is not exceptional.

It is recommended in the lonely planet, it has a very nicely decorated interior and it is located nicely at tge corner of a small park. It smells a bit like a tourist trap, but it is really not. During the day, grab a café cortado, some pinxtos and a txakoli. In the evening, try a charcoal grilled lamb kebab... More

We discovered this place by accident walking around the district that houses many Tapas bars. The Cafe Iruna seems to attract many tour groups that enjoy a set menu, but the locals and knowledgeable tourists have found the place also . Here you can enjoy razor clams, and other Tapas dishes or go for an a la carte offering or... More

Visited over a weekend. Excellent pintxos. Good value menu del fin de semana, 19 euros. Superb Rioja at less than 2 euros a glass. Gets very busy. Over 100 years old with plenty of character.

Loved this place. Really lovely vintage interior. We just had two espressos...amazing coffee. Did not eat but the pintxos on display looked great. Definitely worth a visit. Only issue were the, not too loud, r&b tunes playing...not the right fit for this lovely cafe bar

Thank Stephen D
