We called in for a late lunch. We ordered a plate of meat and some croquettas. The meat was just ok, the cheese component was sweaty and lacking freshness. Rest was average. Expensive for the quality and service was dismissive.

The food at the Pumarada was typical Asturias fair. The portions were big and the presentation was nice. We loved the way they poured the Cider for us to try. The location is good on a pedestrian street, and we were overall satisfied with our experience here.

We started with the cider pouring, great fun. All translated by the manager who spoke English and was a great host!
Had calamari, wine, fish wirg garlic, and cheesecake and coffee to finish. We loved it all. The atmostphere, the food and the location. Definitely recommend.

We ate here a lunch. The food was all right, and the first course came fast. The problem started when I tried to ask a coffee. The first time I asked it was too soon. Then it took ages before they let me even to ask it. Maybe they just had too many tables for the amount of staff members and they didn't want us to leave the table.

I went there to have dinner with a friend, we ordered sea food, and before we left, my friend and I already went to the toilet because we had strong diarrhea. I guess the sea food was over. I don't recommend this place.

They offered a good meal, generous portions and an early lunch time (1230) when other restaurants turned us away. Food was tasty.

Waiter was attentive to my dietary condition. He suggested items from the menu I could eat. He even brought me gluten free bread! My main course (second plate) salmon, was a bit over cooked BUT, the rest and my wife meal was excellent.

Did not eat other than the free tapas, but had 4 bottles of cider. A very friendly and fun staff made it a great memorable evening.

We ate the daily menu and all four of us found the food unedible. Not only because it was partly made from canned food such as ham, peas, asparagus but also how it was prepared. When we told the staff all this they said that the food is good and we were the only ones complaining (we saw a couple complaining 10 min before us). The staff were stressful and rude to us and each other.
They charged us 70€ for a meal we couldn't eat.

Five years since we were here, but were served yet another excellent 'Menu del Dia' with bread (and GF), wine and water included. We were served by the same waiter as then, who is still pouring cider from a great height into the glass without barely a splash. Popular with locals and thus has a lively and buzzing atmosphere, this restaurant serves very good local food.
You may need your phrase book/a working knowledge of Spanish, but the staff very patient and keen to help. Well worth seeking out in a street full of restaurants. If full, I am sure the others are just as good.

We had looked at several restaurants in the area for lunch. This area is noted for sidrerÃas and one can see the cider being poured in the traditional way.
La Pumarada is clean, has a good range of dishes and prices on the menu and also offers fresh fish by weight.
We enjoyed excellent lubina (sea bass) and traditional Asturian rice pudding!
Our waiter, Leo, was friendly, humourous and very efficient.
As a wheelchair user it’s not always easy finding seating that doesn’t intrude on other diners, especial in outdoor areas, but the staff here quickly organised a table and we were comfortable, not feeling any different from other guests.

After perusing several "menu del dias" in the area, we decided on this one for our lunch. The food was fine--not great, but acceptable and I would not have any complaints about it except the waiters acted like they wished we were not there. They practically threw the food on the table, never smiled or made or made us feel welcome. They took our orders in a perfunctory style...like they wished we would get the choices over with. We were eating early and they were not busy, so that was not an excuse. All the waiters seemed to behave the same. Strange, since it does not take much energy to be pleasant. I have had such wonderful service everywhere I went in Spain (I have spent about 2 months here.), so this was an unpleasant surprise.
