Great service, good food and nice environment! I ordered rabo de toro and did not like fighting with the bone but the tastes were good!

One of the best restaurants in town, but their wine prices are a little too high of you compare them with similar restaurants

Perfection as always. Esther the sister is the drive behind this but Nacho is very much with her in the creativity process. The result is sublime - I cannot say there is one dish I didn't like. Obviously if you have not tried the famous rice with pitu then it's a must but the rest - just let yourself go... More

Esther Manzano oversees this lovely restaurant but you feel Nacho's touches all over the menu. It's a great place / location wise and service. The food is outstanding - really wonderful modern twists given to Asturian cuisine. You must not miss the pitu rice - amazing!

Retaurant "La Salgar" offers many typical Asturian dishes cooked as a " haute cuisine". This is the big attraction of this Restaurant where you can feel traditional traditional flavours in a different and modern way. The location is in an amazing place called " Museo del Pueblo de Asturias" (Museum of the Asturian People)

We had high expectations after hearing a lot about the Manzano family but the card of this Manzono restaurant was good but not what we expected. Chef of the evening was mrs. Esther Manzano, she welcomes the Spanish guest but our table was avoided, language problems or bad hospitality?? Staff was very friendly and tried to speak English. The food... More

After a trip defined by outstanding seafood, it was wonderful to be introduced to the cuisine of Nachi Manzano. For example, classic roast salmon was transformed with its melon 'soup' making for a refreshing and interesting dish. Our rustic style farmhouse chicken rice was so tasty and the chocolate fondant pudding irristible.

Located on the premises of Asturian Ethnographic Museum, La Salgar offers a selection of local dishes with a contemporary hint. Pleasure guaranteed. Part of Nacho Manzano' s familiar food businesses. Nice winelist.

Description
La Salgar is the urban restaurant of the Manzano Family managed by Chef Esther Manzano (1 Michelin Star and 1 Sol Repsol). The restaurant is located in the vibrant city of Gijon and it has views to the picturesque Museum of the Region of Asturias. The cuisine of Esther and Nacho Manzano is all about roots, respect and tradition, the importance of the products and recipes and it is also about the developing, evolving, being creative and bringing this products or recipes a lot further. The way of cooking is traditional, fresh and contemporary, thinking in the local product, trustworthy producers and the classical and sometimes forgotten recipes of the region. But they go further and in this kitchen they dream and experiment evolving these recipes and produces in something different, with different methods, techniques and combinations of flavours.
