Carmella does what it says on the tin. It is a locals bar with a few loud student types. The service is great and the tapas good value. Great for a stop off and a copa de Jerez.

I am a bit disqualified rating this cosy little restaurant on the quaint square right below our fantastic rooftop flat we rented for 28 days from Carmen, who is also the owner of this establishment, but I shall to be fair.... Good, tasty breakfast. Fantastic ratatouille! Nice garbanzo beans in sauce and many other unpretentious, but tasty tapas dishes. Plenty... More

A nice outdoor seating arrangement near Real Alcazar. Seemed to be a mix of locals who knew the staff and tourists just passing through. The tapas was good - as was the Greek salad!

After having a couple of mediocre tapas meals we found this bar and gave it a go. Heaters were provided outside and the staff spoke good English. The menu was in English which gave us an advantage on the many Spanish only menus. We started with Mousaka then had Spinach with chickpeas and egg then the Carmela Tortilla. All hot... More

Good value for money, nice wine and super tasty tapas- especially the croquettes. Tapas costs between 3 and 4 Euro; glass of wine less than 3

We were staying at a hotel nearby with a group of friends and this was a great place to end the evening . Staff welcoming friendly and spoke good English. We even managed to drink them out of their brandy!! Very reasonable compared to the bar next door

BEST SANGRIA in SEVILLE....Just sayjn' !! Great location in the Barrio de Santa Cruz. The Sangria has wonderful fruit and an added bonus is a cinnamon stick, so yummy! Large pour for 4,60€ Tapas were priced very good. We only had the potato omelette and the tomato & cheese (a caprese style version of Tapa) but both tasty. Service is... More

My husband and were staying in a hotel opposite this bar. It proved to be an excellent place to stop for a drink after a day’s sightseeing before going back to the hotel to change for dinner. Although we took dinner elsewhere we did also return for a late night drink before bed. We found the service every time to... More

So we weren't sure whether to eat here or not because of the reviews but it was just opposite our hotel so we decided to give it a try and the tapas was incredible! Such a great selection and lovely service. Would definitely eat here again.

After eating amazing food in this city we were totally underwhelmed by the average untasty food here which was also expensive compared to michelin style food we ate elsewhere for less. Would not go back.

Description
Carmela Bar is opened since 1994, it is an excellent reference to taste TAPAS, an Andalusian tradition.
It is located between the Santa Cruz and La Juderia area, a very distinctive place of the Centre of Seville. This is the perfect place to make a break and sit down in its great terrace near the most important monuments of our city: the Alcazar, the Cathedral and the Giralda. It is also located very near La Carboneria, a famous place for live Flamenco music.
