My parents loved this place on their last visit so I went along. The food is local, traditional and prices are tailored to locals (not tourists) so really great value.
The waitress was really helpful ~ we explained in broken Spanish what I couldn’t eat and I managed to find three dishes that were naturally vegan friendly - spinach and chickpeas (a local favourite), asparagus on gazpacho and mushrooms with a garlic sauce and a little rice.
It was simple but delicious.
My parents loved their meat and fish options and have gone back again this evening to enjoy more of the tapas.

After a long day exploring Seville we were heading back to our hotel San Gil when we decided to rest for some unplanned drinks at Bar El Ambigu, sitting outside. The lady that served us (think her name was Eme??) was so friendly, cheerful and welcoming, she made us feel relaxed and although our Spanish was VERY limited and her English was also limited, she took time to try and explain the different dishes they had, so we thought we would give some a try. I went for Rice with Alioli and Prawns (8 euros, rise so soft and prawns fresh, so nice!), my sister Hake Loin in a Pesto dressing and salad (11 euros, two loins cooked beautifully, no bones, cooked to perfection), my other sister a Spanish wok style dish one with prawns and one with beef (5 euros each). All of us really enjoyed the food, the first two dishes were larger plato's and the wok style dishes smaller (but ample!) Our visit here was so enjoyable, lovely food, wonderful staff and such great value for money!!

The place is “a hole in the wall” - unpretentious, unnoticeable, modest, and a bit dilapidated. The head waiter looks like a cross of Mephistopheles and Penelope Cruz but treats his customers with warmth and respect. Food is really good: spinach was out of this world and chorizo - the bomb. This is Andalucian cuisine at its best!

On our six day trip to Seville we went to lots of traditional tapas bars and on our trip to this superb area of Seville we went to a bar called Ambigú on C.Ferìa that offers a very good food and drinks range.
This excellent bar has a Sevillian tapas bar look and feel with superb tiling and superb wood panelling and many interesting items throughout the whole interior and plenty of good seating options.
We went to Bar Ambigú in the afternoon on a roasting hot day and as we'd had a meal we decided to have a few beers. The beer's we had were Alhambra beer's which where served iced cold and were well priced and made a refreshing change from the beer's we normally drank in Seville as most bars in Seville serve Cruzcampo brewery beer's.
A superb bar in a brilliant area and it's well worth going to.(This is my first review of Bar Ambigú).

Each one has his own preferences. I prefer Cruzcampo beer to accompany any meal and make it more appetizing. That's why I was disappointed by this bar that has a sign on its door advertising the special Cruzcampo beer. Then it turned out that none. That they have this concoction called Amstel and that for me is more of a medicine than a beer. Well, don't fool the staff with false propaganda. Cruzcampo there is only one. And glory to her.

My twin brother and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop into Bar Ambigu and what a great time we had.
A great locals bar, interior is superb, an eye catching serving bar dominates the main room, lovely decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, its a great bar to chill out in.
We ordered bottles of beer from Cruzcampo Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers.
My beer was really good, a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this bar, its a beer perfect for the hot climate out here, a beer that I most associate with Seville, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world.
We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to Bar Ambigu we had a great time.
Bar Ambigu is easy to locate along Calle Feria.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Saturday, open from 8.30am.
Sunday, open from midday.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

bad service: disrespectful waiters, prices too high compared to the quantity, low quality food, the only appreciable thing was the place where it was located, and also the toilette was dirty

Very traditional tapas place. Exactly what I was looking for, rustic and simple food but excellent. Best tapas during my Spain trip and ridiculously cheap

4 days in Sevilla by myself, and every lunch and dinner serves an important role. Nice place of warm cheece with jam and other was some sort of fish. Friendly owner helping out, since the tapas menu was only in Spanish. Good experience all together!

This is a proper Spanish bar with really good value food which is a great place to people watch when the Thursday flea market is taking place.
There are a handful of tables on the street adjoining a couple of market stalls. We stopped for a quick drink and spent a couple of hours people watching and in the end enjoyed a four course lunch of the day including tuna starter and tilapia main course for nine euros- incredible value and very tasty.
The bar is at the northern end of the market and is a perfect place to grab a drink or bite to eat after visiting the flea market.
Hercules square is nearby and is well worth a look - great boho vibe and super rooftop bar at El Disprate.

We had a couple of dishes. We had a cod and shrimp with mussels and rice. Both were good dishes. Unfortunately we were early by local standards.
Next visit I will go after 10 pm to get a better sense of the place.

We visited on a Saturday night, and there was a great family atmosphere. The food was sublime, with choices from a comprehensive menu with great specials. We took advice from the fantastic waitress, who recommended the duck breast, which was beautiful, and a range of fish and vegetarian dishes. We finished with cheesecake to die for and local ice cream. The wine was reasonable and decent. The price was incredibly reasonable. If you're in Sevilla, seek this unassuming little cafe out. It encapsulated Seville for us.
