This is a place which is ideal for having a nice breakfast. We found it to be very pleasant. We had a great breakfast, which included special toasts made with great care. Nice service as well.

If you get here past 9am there will be nowhere to sit and you’ll have to deal with a cranky woman barista who surely knows how to say no. I got 2 no’s as a greeting.

Went there for breakfast. Perfect food and coffee with very nice view of Alhambra. Service was perfect and fast. And all that for an incredibly low price!

The food was ok, but totally overpriced. The place is enchanting, so I guess you are paying for this, but the service was so noisy and annoying that totally killed the magic so… not really worth it.

This cafe was 5-minute walk from my accommodation and I was lucky to be seated as it's a very popular tiny place. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. I've ordered a cappuccino, an orange juice and their 4 gatos Spanish bread. When I...asked for the bill to my surprise the drinks weren't charged. The waiter explained that it was included in the meal, which wasn't the case as they were separately listed in the menu. They are very nice people and could sense that they really want to have good customers and they definitely do. I left some tips for them and headed to Alhambra. They only accept cash.More

Great vibe, freshly cooked breakfast, superb coffee. Yes it's small and busy but that adds to its ambiance. Friendly and welcoming. We went three days running. Suggest you arrive before 9:30 for breakfast. Even then the staff did whatever they could to accommodate us when...busy.More

Not sure why this place has such a high rating, although based on the fact that reviews have died off in the past several months, perhaps the populace is realizing what Cherry Wonderdog discovered first hand. Cafe 4 Gatos is extremely overrated! We skipped our...hotel breakfast and walked fifteen minutes to get here, and it was a decision we seriously regretted. 4 Gatos’ success has evidently backfired. The cafe was packed, with people waiting in line outside, and a lone server obnoxiously chastising people for standing or sitting in the wrong place. After several minutes, he scolded us, too, and we threw in the towel. We had come for breakfast, not to be treated like children. Besides having a nasty server/owner, the posted menu left a lot to be desired. It felt pretentious, limited in scope, and overpriced. For a tiny restaurant focused on a not-so-important meal, Cafe 4 Gatos is a big whoop-de-doo. There’s limited seating, choices are slim, prices are high, and service isn’t friendly. So why go? Cherry Wonderdog designates a poopy rating. One star for location.More

For a simple tasty breakfast this venue is hard to beat. Breakfast specials include coffee and fresh orange juice and can be eaten in the sunshine outside the cafe. Perfect way to start the day. Cash only.

We loved this cafe in 2018 when we last visited Granada and it has not changed. It's still a great little spot to grab a coffee and a breakfast pastry or toast-n-tomato. Highly recommended if you're in the neighborhood. One caution: It gets quite busy...and it's very small. So if you cannot get in, try again the next day.More

Friendly service with good breakfast in the Albaicin neighborhood in Granada. We went there twice since it was just a few min walk from our Air BnB. We had a nice yogurt with muesli and bread with yummy jam!

Best all around breakfast that we had all trip. Food was amazing but it was about way more than the food. We showed up in the middle of the breakfast rush and nestled ourself into the bar area as the patio tables (with a view...of the Alhambra) were all taken. It was small inside, but cozy. I also couldn't help but notice that for a restaurant in a highly touristy area, there were an awful lot of locals there. On this day it was a 2 man show. The owner of the restaurant (Bale, Vale - couldn't quite understand) was behind the bar, taking orders, cranking out drinks, greeting people, laughing with everyone, sprinting outside to take care of the outside tables, kissing his son on the head and giving him a pep talk before kicking him out the door to go to school. The guy was amazing. The other guy was in the back was cooking like crazy but would frequently pop out briefly to greet a friend or heckle/laugh with one of the locals. Unbelievable energy from the duo. The attention to detail with the food and drinks was also on another level. This was our last stop in a 10 day trip through Andalucia so I had eaten plenty of tostadas to this point. The tostada was technically the main thing they served but the tomatoes were somehow better, the jamon seemed more savory, the types of bread they chose was dependent upon the toppings (the whole wheat toast was on another level), each dish, despite being toast, was more than just toast. Near the end of the rush a local came in and the owner asked if he wanted to try something different. He quickly pulled out a metal ramakin, put a little brandy in it, some orange peel, cinnamon and a few espresso beans and lit the thing on fire. He let it burn, away from the commotion until the alcohol was removed, strained it and put the magical elixir into a latte and handed it to the man.. all while taking orders, and closing out checks. As he handed it to him, in broken English he said "Winter is Coming...". Needless to say we went back the next day and I ordered one.More

This cafe a bit off the beaten track proved to be a really good breakfast location and we visited on each of the three mornings of our Granada stay. You have to be prepared to queue but it’s well worth it as the coffee is...really good as are the food offerings and it really is excellent value for money. Note however that it’s strictly cash only and a recent post which suggests the contrary is wrong!More

This little gem was recommended by our (equally wonderful) hotel, Casa de Cantaor, and what a treat it was! Their specialty are 'tostadas' or toasts, with various toppings. I had tomato with the best and freshest goat cheese I have ever tasted! Fair warning -...a full portion is an entire small baguette! The half portion was perfect for me. The staff was jovial and their Spanish banter was part of an overall lovely experience.More
