Francisco is that elusive blend of host and merchant. The tasting I attended was amazing from the beginning, and the quality of dishes never wavered. Here's how I would describe it: simple, local, fresh, original, quality of the highest standard. Feed me, Francisco! Don't miss an opportunity to attend a tapas tasting!

If you don't, you are in danger of your visit to Granada being somewhat... incomplete! "An experience" has become a woefully over used phrase - not so in this case. La Oliva does not claim to be a restaurant, so judging it as such is simply redundant. A somewhat negative review mentioned the tiny kitchen. Did you taste the food... More

The tasting menu that Francisco organizes is unique, unforgettable, and excellent value. Francisco explains with clear and useful descriptors (in three or four languages, if needed), but then steps back to let you enjoy. There is nothing pretentious or precious about this. But rather, the meal is an opportunity to taste the kind of food of regional home cooks. For... More

We spent a month travelling through Spain experiencing the culture, food, and people. Francisco and his tasting experience was the highlight of our trip. He taught us so much about the food and drink of Spain. The quality of the food was superb. I highly recommend this experience. FANTASTIC!!

We visited as a group of 6 last night and had an amazing experience. A total immersion into Spanish cuisine, wine, and the surprising world of olive oil! It was so relaxed and informal, like being at home, Francisco made us feel very welcome, and is a great host, not to mention a magical cook. We will remember the evening... More

Francisco is an unassuming, kind, engaging magician of the cuisine of Granada and wider Spain. His food is deceptively simple and tasty, the wine rich, sense-drenching. His place is unassuming on first glance, magical on departure. He and his team are conjurers, with a deeply attentive approach to service. Miss this at your peril.

I went with my family for the tasting menu. Its not really a restaurant, more a small delicatesse with a few tables. We were the only ones in the restaurant (4 pax). Its very homey and relaxed. The owner only has one tasting menu with 15 different courses. He tells stories about Granada, the food, olive oil and is just... More

We popped in to buy some olive oil and wine and ended up returning staying for much longer! Francisco, the owner is an absolute gentleman and fascinating person to talk to. The shop is beautiful, the produce is well-priced (compared to other shops that we went to in Granada) and delicious. We had a memorable evening chatting away to Francisco... More
