After 3 days of eating tapas and all things fried in Granada, Azafran was an excellent choice for something healthy. A stone's throw away from our hotel, we each had the salmon and tuna fish for main. For starters we had the Gazpacho soup - delicious! We received a complimentary Humus dish before our starters. The Tuna and salmon were... More

The food and service were great. We got there right after they opened for the evening and were the first to sit and first to order. While it got very busy very fast we were served well. They were understaffed but the one waiter, server, greeter, cashier, did his best and met the challenge. The first was great, the setting... More

We had a very pleasant experience here. Dinner on a beautiful night with high quality food that is North African inspired. Service was good and you get a wonderful view of the Alhambra as a bonus.

Since the Ruta del Azafran is in the heart of the tourist-y section we were somewhat dubious but we saw the trip advisor signs and walked in. Were we glad that we did. In spite of our lack of reservation they were able to take us. The food was excellent. We had a salad caprese made with heirloom tomatoes and... More

Have eaten at this restaurant every time we have visited Granada, 6 - 7 times, we keep coming back so that must say something! The location is superb, at the bottom of the Albaycin on the banks of the river with fantastic views of the Alhambra. On every visit the food and service has been impeccable, the most amazing tuna,... More

We were walking towards the Alhambra and saw the old bike out front and took it as a sign to stop. (We are cyclists and had just finished a 3 day tour in Andulusia.) The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere, the wait staff was very attentive, and the food was incredible! We really enjoyed our Moroccan soup and lamb... More

Had a wonderful meal here - the best salmorejo of our entire trip to Spain, a terrific Moroccan chicken pie (sweet and savory), and an unusual but delicious dessert (thinly sliced pineapple in ginger syrup with pistachio ice cream).

The food was okay and dare I say the portions were too large. Service started well and then we appeared to be forgotten about with one waiter being extremely rude. A €100 experience never to be repeated during our visit to Granada. Oh, top tip don't touch the cats, I have the scars to prove they are vicious little blighters.

We are a bunch of foodies from the NYC area, and we all agree, this was the best meal in Spain so far, and we've been eating at top places. We all got a set menu, there were two different ones and between all of us we tried both. Every dish was fantastic. View and location perfection. Service attentive. If... More

We spend our week holiday in Granada and we went 3 times to this restaurant for a dinner. We really enjoyed our meals at all . Is a place where you can try the authentic Spanish cuisine. We also received a perfect service from Cristian that combined with the amazing food with reasonable price makes our dinners the best we... More

At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran. It is in the
incomparable setting of the Paseo de los Tristes right in the Albaicin, which is perfect
for the traveller that loves to soak up history.
Our kitchen, surrounded by this extraordinary scenery, can be found in the same mix of
cultures alternating between Arab flavors, international foods and the traditional tastes
from Andalucia. It's worth to mention our Tuna Tataki, the Cous-Cous (chicken, lamb
or vegetable), Duck Magret, Moorish Pie and also undoubtedly our homemade desserts.
All of this accompanied by the best local wines, cavas from the Alpujarra mountains
and a special selection of Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines.
The restaurant Ruta del Azafran offers different menus for groups that are carefully put
together by our chef to provide the most exquisite flavors.
All of our meats are Halal and we are ready to accept any request with respect to this.
We have a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Our kitchen professionals who make up a highly qualified team assemble all of the
dishes in the restaurant.
We invite you to visit us: to enjoy the surroundings and taste our exquisite dishes.
