What a surprise I got this week when I visited La Cascada Cocina & Bar!!! I am a lover of world cuisine and that is why I like to go to the best-rated restaurants in each region and enjoy pleasant experiences.
First of all, the site is immersed in nature, mountains, a waterfall, fruit trees, which made me connect with the environment and relax...
Upon arrival, they gave me a warm welcome and immediately showed us to our table. I was with my partner, so they reserved an intimate table for us. The manager of the restaurant approached and very kindly introduced himself, told us about the place and made us feel very comfortable with his good humor and great professionalism. His name is Nicolás... The menu is quite attractive and varied for what we wanted. try everything then we start with the "Bao Buen" which is a new way to enjoy squid and the Sea Bream Carpaccio with great flavor and beautiful presentation, we accompanied our starters with a bottle of Asadoira that achieved the perfect pairing. For the main course we ordered the famous leg of lamb and the sea bass fillet, both juicy, with great flavor and good portions. And to finish we shared the dark chocolate waffle which is a true delight with an excellent espresso Martini and a carajillo which reflected the presence of a great Bartender!
The restaurant is cozy and charming, well lit, and decorated.

After a year, I returned to this charming place that makes me feel at home with the warm treatment of the team!
The chef welcomed us with a smile and Anthony, who was our waiter, took great care of us, updating us with the new seasonal dishes. We ate, drank and spent a very relaxed and comfortable afternoon at La Cascada!
And we miss Maitre Nico who took care of our gastronomic experience every time we came...
We took the 25 euro menus with a delicious starter and main course, the price was incredible for the quality of food they provide. The pumpkin and Spicy Chicken were gastronomic experiences that brought me back to my native country and I loved trying them!

It is a very cozy place, with a cozy atmosphere and really good and tasty food, I would like to give 5 but it requires the staff to be more attentive to guests and old service on the tables, as it results in a very long waiting time for service. But will come back again. Maybe they will learn it for another time

Such high expectations walking in. Beautiful place, went downhill from there. Wanted to start with some cocktails and went off menu for a classic Manhattan. They didn't have the ingredients, can u imagine. Asked for a Boulevardier, another classic. The bartender didnt know how to make that, can u believe that as well? I had to google it for the waiter, who incidentally ended up making the drink himself as the bartender couldn't be bothered. Needless to say, servers shouldn't be entrusted to make drinks, unless they have the hands for it; the drink was awful btw, Sent it back. Then i asked for a vodka martini that never arrived and the waiter never followed up until i asked for the bill. Terrible manners, especially for a so called 5 star rated restaurant.
Forgot to mention, the food had a lot to be desired, especially when it came out at room temperature; i didnt bother complaining as we were hungry. We had the fish, ( had no taste other than smoked embers) and the Piri Piri chicken (which was lacking the traditional hot piri spice). On top of that, it showed up cold.
The waiter, btw, a young Brit lad, was polite enough but had the air of just tolerating us which came out as overbearing and obnoxious. He wasn't outwardly rude, but more so behind the veil needed a dressing down for lack of actual caring that the food was not delivered hot and drinks were not
flowing.
I asked for the bill, after being left parched sans Martini, paid in cash, and took ever nickel off the payment tray. I am a very good tipper, 20% plus most times.
But this time there was no reason i felt the waiter or restaurant should reasonably expect anything other than a negative and truthful review.
I would never go back here, and I'm certainly not going to recommend it either..you folks can do as you please but i had better food in old town Marbella, at half the price and double the service.
I give these folks a Gordon Ramsey F..k off rating of 0 out of 5 for wasting a dinner experience for us in Marbella.

The head waiter was arrogant, and the waitstaff behaved as if the place was too good for us. The food was disappointing; we had to send back the initial dish as it was poorly cooked and inedible. We were offered a 'replacement' dish, which we assumed was complimentary since it arrived an hour after everyone else in our party finished eating. However, we ended up with the most expensive item on the menu, and we had to pay an extra 100 euros. The quality of this dish was also subpar, but we just wanted to leave, so we paid and departed. I don't understand the positive reviews. This must be the most overhyped restaurant I've ever visited.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for literally years and our latest visit on a Sunday evening was beyond disappointing.
On arrival we reached a rope across the entrance which we stood at for quite some time; in the end we actually had to part some bushes into the restaurant and call over a member of staff to let us in. Not the best welcome.
Once seated, once we had chosen our food the waitress wrongly talked my daughter out of her starter choice which was bizarre. She opted not to order one as a result.
The wine arrived which my husband tried (all ok) but after serving the rest of the table didn’t return to my husbands glass to pour his.
Several members of our party had no plates or cutlery to start. We had to ask for them which I feel is unacceptable.
The food itself was very good - hats of to the chef but there was a really bad atmosphere in the restaurant; almost like the staff on duty had fallen out. One particular waiter who was tall with brown hair did his best to make us feel extremely unwelcome with a cold and very abrupt manner. A lady on the table next to us did actual pull him up on this.
We have been coming here for literally years and have seen the restaurant evolve with different owners over the years but despite the good food I expect happy staff and to be made to feel like we are welcome guests. I won’t be returning in any hurry… sorry

Whenever Le Patio and Cascada are both open, we do need a rope at the entrance so the hostess can locate your reservation and send you to the right restaurant. We understand it might not be the most welcoming feeling, it is essential for our operations in peak summer periods with two venues operating at full capacity. Sorry our team seemed off that day. As you know from your repeated visits or from other guests’ reviews, we are a very happy team with lots of energy and great personality. We hope you will visit us again and find that we are true to our forever good vibe.

I don't understand the rave reviews and high ratings.
My experience was a complete failure.
1) The parking lot is small, you have to park in the forest on the side of the road.
2) We had to wait at the entrance until the manager came to open the entrance to the restaurant for us.
3) The appearance of the restaurant does not match the photos - everything is very old, it is obvious that they save on the gardener (most likely, there never was one)
4) For the high prices - the portions are very small, without side dishes and sauces.
5) Some dishes - bread and fried vegetables - were burnt, we quickly left because we started to have heartburn.
I am very surprised by the high ratings, considering the huge choice of excellent restaurants in Marbella.

The welcome is very friendly, the setting is very beautiful. We ate on the terrace surrounded by very diverse vegetation. We had the tasting menu.
All dishes were absolutely delicious. We probably ate the best beef fillet of our lives. A quality of meat, cooking, exceptional juice.
Our Brussels server was very friendly, professional and gave good advice.
We were also able to chat with the two chefs who explained to us their vegetable plantations in Istan. Local products of exceptional quality. The only small hiccup was the waiting time for the red wine. The meat arrived before the wine. Obviously the chef recommended cooking the meat again until the wine arrived. Much appreciated. Thank you to the whole team, we will come back to your home several times soon.

I recently visited this hidden gem for my birthday, and it was an incredible experience! We were happy to come back but were very disappointed.
For a French restaurant, you could at least have a vegetable that accompanies the dish instead of being faced with a piece of meat or fish on a fillet of sauce.

The Christmas Eve at Cascada was a truly unique experience we will never forget.
Not only was the food one of the best we had in Spain. The staff was also in a unique mood and had a party with us as guests. We were very welcome. This restaurant is all worth the money and definitely a place we would recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to visit it. Happy New Year

It was not the first time that we went to this place. The location is beautiful, they have nice live music on certain days and the food is delicious. The only thing that was missing to make the experience perfect was the attention of the staff.. they did not anticipate our needs (ordering beverages, taking orders, asking if everything was ok, etc.), so we had to ask for everything which took a while.. but other than that it was (as always) a very pleasant experience!

This had to be one of the best restaurants that I have visited in Marbella. The location is perfect in the mountain on the country side. DO NOT let the location deter you. Bolt and taxis will go there very easily.
Where shall I start. The service was professional courteous. There was not one wait staff that did not know the menu or what it was that we ordered.
The Cristal bread with truffle out of this world.
The starters were amazing cauliflower leek and oil paste were tasty original and so good. There is nothing bad to say about the beetroot and onion starter was the best.
Where do I begin about the entrees. Two in our party of four had filet one in party had sea bass and the last one butternut squash. Every meal was perfect the filet patrons were able to make the steaks to their perfection on a hot stone that comes to the table. This was a huge hit with our picky steak eater.
Sea bass was one of the best I have eaten. Will come back for that for sure. Butternut meal was also good.
The sides were fresh,hot and delicious.
Wine menu is very good for most Spanish wines that were great price , and delicious
Desserts OMG truly amazing the chocolate Avacado, the crème brûlée with the pine nut crust wonderful.
There is not one bad thing I can say about this restaurant other than you HAVE to go when in Marbella

FABULOUS! This place is beautiful! Set in the hillside surrounded by trees, the terrace upstairs is so pretty. We had the tasting menu and it was stunning! We loved every dish, the timing between dishes was spot on, the produce so fresh and a delight, and the chef takes real pride in his presentation too. Special thanks to Zac who looked after us during our experience, made sure we were happy with everything (how could we not be!!!) and explained every dish to us, kept us watered and wined and was a joy to chat to! We enjoyed this restaurant so much we are returning on Sunday for dinner, this time from the a la carte menu as we wanted to try everything - the food is stunning so our compliments to the chef! This restaurant is a MUST!!! Highly recommend!

The place is a hidden gem. The attention of the waiters especially “katherine” explained us with every detail of the dishes, the experience was exceptional.
