Family run restaurant. Very friendly. Limited languages but it will be no barrier. Excellent menu del dia. About nine euros. Very tasty but not haut cuisine. Mostly locals. We go there frequently each trip to Malaga. Closed Saturdays but open Sundays.

The food in Los Hidalgos was very authentic, really good and served by the most pleasant and welcoming staff. It's not the prettiest interior with the walls adorned with religious icons but the atmospher made up for it. We went on a Friday evening and...it was packed out with a queue forming at the door. Clientele apeared to be 99% Spanish but despite this they still managed to bring us a menu in English. Food dishes came quickly and were excellent. Wine by the bottle was low cost and at the end they give you a small decanter of Marsala on the house. The bill overall was small for a substantial meal in buzzing. Very highly recommended.More

The service was excellent. Very kind and personal. The food was outstanding. Dont be fooled by the humble environment - the dishes are of high quality. We had snails, dogfish and the variety of pitufos with quail eggs. The place has also very good prices....Highly recommended!More

This is a wonderful little bar/ restaurant situated along a narrow lane in the historic centre. Worth seeking out , especially if you enjoy rustic food in a great setting. The menu of the day is great value at seven euros, this includes bread and...a drink. There were many locals eating and drinking, and there was a great buzz about the place. The lady who served us was very busy, but very pleasant and helpful. I noticed an elderly local lady eating alone , she seemed to be having a regular meal there. The staff gave her a doggy bag and gently helped her when she was ready to leave . It was very touching. You will get a little snapshot of local Malaga if you visit here.More

Stumbled across this restaurant on a side street off the busy plazas. It was packed and everyone seemed to be speaking Spanish, so as American tourists we took that as a good sign! Ordered way too much food, all of it delicious. Servers were very...friendly even with the distinct language barrier. Definitely recommend.More

After a long and tiring visit in the city of Málaga you would like to find a place amongst the locals where you can have a meal with home-made food for a reasonable price? That is quite difficult to find, but a very nice family-run...restaurant in a narrow street in the northern part of the city can offer you this. Within a lively atmosphere you can choose different dishes and tapas. They are fresh, home-made and delicious. The inside looks a bit like a canteen, but it is authentic. The service is friendly and competent. But the best comes at the end, when you get the bill. When you look at the final amount you will get the impression, that they must have forgotten to charge sth., but it is true.More
