If you are looking for a trendy wine bar with groovy music and expensive designer wines then walk on by. This is a traditional Malaga wine bar where the local wines are served in glasses filled straight from the barrel. Expect to mix with the locals and also expect limited interaction from the grumpy guys serving (they do crack a... More

Oldest bar in Malaga with oldest waiters pouring a drink from oldest barrels. It is a little charming place to show to visitors or go for a quick super sweet drink-sherry shot after a meal or if you are not feeling sweet enough. They will write your bill with a chalk right onto the bar in front of you. They... More

This was actually described somewhere as a high-end wine bar and nothing could be further from the truth. While it's endearing in its antiquity, it struck me as the Malaga equivalent of an old spit and sawdust pub back home. The walls are lined with old oak barrels full of sherry and fortified wines which are served in shot glasses... More

Visit this traditional tavern and select on of the many sherries they have on offer from seca to dulce. Find one you like? You can ask them to fill a bottle for home. Don´t forget to try a tapas also!

If you go to this place expecting fino, amontillado, palo cortado or any other classic sherries you'll be disappointed. It's worth a trip but go for 15 minutes, knock back whatever you choose - mostly 2.5 euros a glass and move on to somewhere you'll get a decent drink. This is a very old fashioned bar with huge barrels of... More

It'a a traditional, old-style wine bar. Just go there, ask what kind of wine is in the barrels (they speak English and are happy to explain), choose the one you like and you will be served a small glass. I and my wife, we tried 4 of them: moscatel, Pedro Ximen, seco anejo and off course malaga :-) It's cheap... More

I was totally under the impression this was a sit-down kinda bar with a menu--not sure why because I was totally wrong. It's actually the kinda place you either start or end your night with. You need no more than tops 30 minutes to experience old-school Spanish bartending. Just go in and point to different barrels. It's basically standing-room only... More

Well worth a visit although choose wise as some of the sherry's are very dry. Very cheap and the bar staff speak english so they can help you with your choice. Very authentic and you can get some little tapas dishes you have to order from the man at the back of the bar.
