Located directly opposite the Picasso museum and therefore very easy to find. Charming old tapas bar/ bodega. Their albondegas- pork meatballs in and almond sauce are quite special. The chicken livers cooked in wine were also very good. Light lunch with a glass or two...of red with some water in this summer heat! A wonderful light lunch.More

We found the cute little Bodequita El Gallo or Taberna el Gallo, directly opposite the Picasso museum, how convenient! There was no-one inside the small restaurant so we opted to eat in the tables outside despite the chill in the air. We ordered some delicious...wine and I had my fresh anchovies in vinegar with bread and Dave had meatballs in almond sauce, we shared a goat cheese salad and relaxed while I gathered enough energy to resume my own tour of Malaga.More

A charming tapas bar located in the centre of Malaga opposite to the Picasso Museum. Here you can taste a wide selection of Spanish tapas and wines. you can also taste vermut a typical beverage from Spain. I like the outdoor seating and tasting typical...Andalucian tapas with a glass of vermut on a sunny day, A video of tapas experience is available on youtube channel (internationalfoodieguide).More

This restaurant is located right near to the Picasso museum. It is also located in the hustle and bustle of the old town. There is a choice of sitting outside, inside, next to the bar and upstairs. We had a table near to the bar...which was great. There are nice old pictures of Malaga up on the wall. Our food was delicious. There is a choice of tapas size, half portion or full portion. I’d recommend the tortilla, the Iberico in tomato sauce and the gambas. We had the local beer called Victoria and a bottle of sangria. Nice local place. The staff are busy but happy to help and explain if needed. I thought that this was a great find.More

We read the reviews before visiting and expected that the service level could be a “challenge” - it was quite the opposite! The waiters were great, fast (considering full house) and friendly. We had 8 different tapas and they were all wonderfull. On top a...lot to drink and the final tab was only 62€ which in our view was very low considering the high quality of food. Menu card in English.More

If you like no eye contact and drinks slammed onto your table, this place is a must. Great location and good beer. Shame about the staff. Beer €4.50 a pint. €2.50 for a half.

Food fine. Prices ok. Waitress was bordering on aggressive. Throwing plates down on the table. Welcome to Malaga..!

Hello Elle Rose, I'm so sorry you had that feeling. sometimes, when in hurry waiters could not be as charming as usual. Anyway, i'll be very pleased if you could email me describing the situation so i could fix it. Bodeguitaelgallo@hotmail.es Thank you

I went here for tapas on a tapas tour. This was by far the best of the bars we visited. Fine wine. Freshly cooked tapas.

Great and authentic tapas bar, centrally located just opposite the Picasso museum. Assorted tapas are really very tasty and you can find a quite various number of them. It is always too crowded, thus it can be tricky to find an outdoor sitting. Second floor...is ideal for crowded groups. The owner of the place Pepe is a great host and he was very helpful about the reservation even though it was a busy Easter weekend and also preparing a set menu for us (party of 30). We had a superb quick lunch just before our visit to Picasso museum. Flamenquines, oxtail croquettes, gambas, goat cheese salad, all were great. Loved the wine they served. Highly recommended. Will definitely come back.More

Stopped here for a snack since the line for the Picasso Museum was quite long. Tapas was good, but it was hard to get in touch with the waiters. Very disappointing.
