We finally got a table after showing up twice during the holidays. It is always booked solid and after eating there we understood why. Service was excellent and the roasted lamb delicious. It is now in our list of favorite restaurants in Malaga

Fantastic food and exceptional service at a very reasonable price! We had 2 meals with appetizer and a bottle of very good red wine for $50 euro. Great atmosphere and close to our hotel.

This place has such a good menu in which the meat is so good. I have been there so many times and I for sure will go again. If you are a meat lover this place is a must go.

I'm a very tough customer. I know about food, and have high standards. I came here randomly and with minimal expectations, particularly when i ordered their lamb shoulder - because lamb is my favorite meat, and spain isn't necessarily famous for lamb. After a stunning appetizer course of simple grilled artichoke and stuffed mushrooms, the lamb arrived and it was... More

It is a bit out of the centre , not on the tourist map, serving mainly local community. The service was welcoming and the choice of wine even by the glass quite impressive. The roasted lamb cooked with wine and herbs was succulent.Mu wife's entrecôte with pimiento was tender and very tasty but rather enormous. We had no room for... More

Had the lamb leg of my life here a couple of weeks ago, and the solomillo with the house mushroom sauce was also spot on. Genuine place with no molecular gastronomy pretensions, and not many tourists find their way out here. A 7-8€ taxi ride from the heart of town.

The reception staff at the hotel I was staying at recommended this restaurant a couple of years ago and each year we make sure we go for a delicious meal... they are known for their fresh lamb .... I usually have the lamb chops but this year the staff suggested the leg of lamb that he just finished cooking. It... More

El Botijo started in Malaga, owned by Gaby and Jose from Haro, the main Rioja town in Northern Spain. The Malaga restaurant is always full of locals (I have never seen a tourist in there) due to the excellence of their meat, and lamb in particular. The appetizers and the main courses are simple presentations. For example, grilled asparagus is... More
