This restaurant was recommended by our hotel In Sevilla and they were right. Old world setting with waiters and special service. We started with picking out our fresh fish. We choose sea bass (English translation from Spanish, it was dorado). Cooked perfectly and then deboned...More

Excellent seafood, though a bit expensive and the setting is a bit claustrophobic and crowded. Service was ok.

Lovely room, elegant and old fashioned. Table service is silver, with the odd lapse from our servers regarding forgotten cutlery between courses. Dishes were interesting. Had the black rice. Tasted fine, nothing exceptional. Nice place for a formal meal. Wine list excellent.

Our experience at El Faro appears to have been a little different than others. The biggest complaint others have expressed is around the 'rudeness' of the staff. We did not find this at all. Yes, the waiters (mostly men) don't exhibit a great sense of...More

On our first night in Cadiz we arrived at El Faro without a reservation and were seated at a lovely table by the window. Menus are provided in various languages and our waiter also got to practice his English on us and our Spanish on...More

We found the food average and for one course, the grilled Tuna, very poor. Although the Paella was good that was not enough for us to view the whole experience as very average. The staff were miserable, the maître d made no attempt to make...More

El Faro de Cadiz is located in the traditional neighborhood of "La Viña", where Gonzalo Cordoba started with a small bar decorated as a sailor tavern, with nets and fishing stuff, with few wooden benches and tables. The customers came in search of the famous fried fish, called "pescaito frito" daily carried by fishermen of "caleta" beach. His daily concern and desire to excel led him to transform the local expanding and providing modern facilities. Now retired, his spirit of service and commitment to others is part of our principle to keep shining gastronomically Cadiz and we are proud to continue this work. El Faro Cadiz is still committed to the tradition to move forward and offer the best of our sea and our land to our clients.
