We had lunch in Al Lago in Zahara. I read much about the location and the food and we were not disappointed. We had seafood Paella and also the vegetarian version, good portions and tasted very good. there was a generous quantity of seafood. My wife and I ate here twice whilst staying in the local area for our honeymoon. It had been recommended by the owner of the house we were renting. The first we ate there we stopped of lunch had the hot mixed tapas for two, one of the best tapas we had whilst in Spain, the mint jelly was fantastic.... More

We visited three times in 10 days and on all three occasions I cannot fault the food. The last visit was on the recommendation of my 4 year old whom wanted the mango and raspberry sorbet. It's not the cheapest restaurant in the area, but it is by far the best

We visited Al Lago for my birthday having been recommended it by the people who we are staying with at Dar Hajra. We ordered the local goats cheese, onion soup and suckling pig. We had the special Indian menu which was excellent. Food is seveal notches above what you normally find in rural Andalucia. If the weather is ok, then reserve a seat on the terrace for great views over the lake. Also have good veggie choices available. Ask for the menu del dia on weekday lunchtimes. We visit regularly and recommend here... More
