On a day trip to Weimar, we found the restaurant just a few minutes away from the tourist information (free wifi) and we initially sat outside. However, we discovered that inside was coolerr and empty, so we moved inside before eating. Mine was something with 2 meats and sausage, and the ladies had a delicious pork dish. You can ask... And of course dark beer, things cooked in dark beer and really friendly helpful service. We were on our fourth trip to Germany in as many years and we have yet to have a bad experience eating out. This was no exception and was particularly noteworthy for delicious food in sensible portions.

This typical half-timbered building has a cosy interior on a cold winter night , where you can eat or drink , or both . Recommend the local beer Kosttritzer black beer and grilled goose leg with red cabbage and Thuringian dumplings !

Nice and friendly staff, but one seems to be waiting indefinitely until something happens... (And they don't know much about special dietary needs.) Lovely "Fachwerk" house, but there are others in the region... Temptingly advertised food, but it ultimately comes out crude... In all, an average experience at accordingly average prices. Good for a quick lunch or simple dinner.

If you’re looking for traditional Thuringian food and good Köstrizer Schwarzbier (13.90€), this is your place. The restaurant is darkly lit, for me a perfect setting to consume typical German food (heavy, meaty) and drink good beer. The choice of the food is not extensive. We also had Schwartzbierbraten(14.90€), and sauerbraten rotkohl(14.90€). The Thuringian potato dumplings were tasty and are... More

We didn't have a reservation on a Friday night and were lucky to find a couple of places free at a larger table; the restaurant was busy and obviously popular with locals. The menu was pretty much all traditional dishes from the region, the food was quite heavy with a big emphasis on meat and dumplings. Our meals came with... More

Gemütlich und lecker. The restaurant is darkly lit which some might find off-putting but it makes for a more intimate setting. I like the German system of placing random people at large tables together where friendly conversations can strike up. The food is quite good - hearty fare with the famous Thuringian dumplings. I had the sauerbraten. Good food at... More

We went in here but only had a beer as it was very busy with tour groups. My husband enjoyed his beer but I didn't like the ambience. The service was adequate
