Great pizza

Yummy pizza arrived relatively quickly brought by efficient, friendly staff. Ambience outside was relaxed and we enjoyed the meal.

we truned up impromptu and got a good table. good atmosphere and good food well presented. we had a good evening and the food is reasonably priced and good quality. we felt we got very good value and had fun.

italian food for average prices!

We have been there because it was the Euro 2016 and they had large TV s. The food is ok and for good prices, I mean 6 euro for a 26 cm pizza. They serve pasta also. This restaurant is ok if you are on a budget and you aren't familiarized with the german cuisine.

Very disrespectful staff

I Have had so far the worst experience at this place. My friends and I went there to order pizzas and we were in a hurry so we asked them to put them in the boxes. They were super quick and we already had our pizza in 15 mins or so, so we decided to just eat there instead of eating outside in the cold before our train. As soon as we started eating it, one of the waitress ( probably owner of the place as well) comes to us and literally starts shouting at us in German. He was literally yelling at us saying that if we wanted to eat in the restaurant we had to tell him so from the beginning and to think about what we do a little before we do something and stuff like that. Our German was limited because we are new international students in the city so we couldn't really do anything there we just left the place immediately. Basically, to my understanding, he got mad because we decided to eat our takeout pizza in the restaurant but the concerts he made over there front of everyone was just extremely irrelevant, not respectful and humiliating. This is not how you treat customers

Worst "Italian" food we've ever eaten, don't recommend

We went to eat here because of okay reviews and moderate price, so we didn't expect masterpieces.But boy, were we disappointed at the quality of food and service. If you dislike chewy pasta, tasting like plastic, oily fastfoody sauces, that all have the same fake taste and tasteless vegetables, that were frozen 3 minutes ago, and all that thrown together, don't go. We didn't try pizza, so maybe that's better, but we doubt it. The food is not made with care and taste. The service could also be much better.

Very cheap food with good quality

If you like standard italian food, nothing special, but quality ok, and with a great price, this is your place in Jena. Of course, as the name says, students populated the place, but ambiance is nice.

Not recommended (but pizza is okay)

I tried four times and I decided that I would not visit again. The place is quite cheap so I am not looking for an amazing quality but something slightly better than Mensa I would say. I had two times pizza which was quite average. My last two times I had tomato based pasta.. And with one bite, I could not continue. Parmesan ham looked nothing like what I know and it was smelling like an old foot.. I didn't dare to try it. Second pasta was seafood, it tasted like it was cooked in a big bunch for a long long time and very greasy with sour tomato sauce. Seafood was cooked so bad that it just smelled rotten. I was even looked at oddly when I said it is very oily. Don't want negativity? Then cook better.

Great food at great prices

Just up the steps from the surface car parking in front of C&A you'll find a tastefully decorated Italian restaurant offering huge plates of food for relatively little outlay. The staff are attentive and the service is quick but not so quick as to make you feel rushed.

I had lunch with a friend at Lo Studente. I ordered my favorit pizza with mushrooms and the service was fast and friendly. However I have to say that the pizza was not a highlight. Average dough and tomato sauce. The absolute no-go for me were the mushrooms from the can. An italian restaurant should use fresh ingredients.

This place is you typical italian restaurant, nothing special though. Also the name Lo Studente suggests that you have lower prices and a special offer for students which is not the case. Personally I think there are better italian alternatives in Jena concerning quality and value. If you are looking for your normal pasta/pizza dish you don't go wrong with this place.

Good Service, Massive Portions

It's good to eat in a basic place sometimes. Small wine list and just pizza & pasta on the menu. Quality was great, service was quick and attentive. Portions where massive, but they boxed up the salad which I just ate for lunch....

Affordable and tasty

They serve great pasta, especially if you consider the price. Ate there two times, Lo Studente is also a nice place to have a date ;)

Yummy, informal, fine service

My wife and I sought a nice meal indoors about 8 or 9 pm and luckily follwed TA´s suggestion for Lo Studente. The casual decor was indeed "student" themed. The service was excellent and the Italian meal was very generous at quite a modest price. What more could we or a student ask for? Fine drdinks as well.
