Service is pretty rough around the edges, but in fairness waiters don't have it easy: far too many tables for the space available. The seating in the main room is cramped to the point that not even slim people can be seated or leave the...More
I think that Christoffel claims to be the oldest tavern in Erfurt. It's anyway decorated in slightly exaggerated faux medieval style. There is a more "regular" restaurant seating area on the ground floor and a "rustic" cellar with long wooden benches. Without a reservation, we...More
Such a fun place to dine with great atmosphere! Good place to have some regional food and beer was excellent. Ordered sweet honey beer and I enjoyed it. We also enjoyed our grilled meat dishes. Be sure to make advanced reservation as the place is...More
A 400+ year old building hosts the place for a medieval Resturant where the food is absolutely spectacular. The setting is like that from a movie where the knights feast after a grand victory. The game meat dish was the go, the duck and the...More

It is like walking back in time as everything is set up as a middle ages restaurant.
The menu is pretty extensive. I had sausages that were very good.
Well this was an experience! Very middle aged themed - waitresses and waiters all dressed accordingly and a live band playing tunes from the middle ages! I loved it. It was such good fun with everyone sitting on very long benches and joining in.
The atmospheare was great. The waiters and waitresses had cool uniforms. The way they served dishes was also spectacular. The food was delicious. However, there was very little space between the tables in the lower dining room (designed as a dungeon) which could make "traffic"...More
