Thank you lovely staff at Brunnenkeller for squeezing us in pre-concert when you were already fully committed and we were also rewarded with lovely hearty fare, perfectly cooked plaice with a herby crust, red cabbage and potatoes. Candle lit tables with clean linen underneath a vaulted brick ceiling to give an intimate and friendly German dining experience.

The staff bent over backwards to fit us in at a busy time and to bring our food quickly when they saw we were short of time. We enjoyed the traditional cuisine and lovely ambience.

Enjoyed a lunch after a morning on the footplate of a steam engine. Needed the wholesome Turingen sausages and mash with red cabbage to restore me. Good local beer too.

Brunnerkeller has authentic Thuringian food and the prices are OK. The location is quite nice in this old cellar. Nevertheless I always felt like I tourist there.

On our first day of vacation in Germany/Austria we went for a bite here. We, as in, me, my husband and our two kids. We ordered typical Thüringer dishes and so did the children. It was very tastefull and we enjoyed ourself very much. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Don't expect haute cuisine here, but tastefull and good portions.

The food was very good and they also offer local beer. Thuringian special dishes are highly recommended (Bratwurst, Rouladen, Klösse) and very authentic. The waitress was friendly but the only one for lots of guests which made the time to wait a bit too long...but anyway, very nice! Sit outside at the market place if weather is good enough for.

After a week and a half traveling around Germany, we stopped here and got what we are still calling our best meal during the entire trip. We sat outside the cafe and watched the world go by as we listened to the pealing bells of the church across the courtyard. The food was so good as was the beer and... More

This restaurant is in a set of wine caves conveniently located on the main square of Eisenach. The menu is somewhat limited but the sausages are wonderful and authentic. There is an English menu and some of the help speaks English. We were able to make some substitutions to our meal with no problem. Entrees are reasonable (8-15E or so).... More

Stopped here after a local castle tour, located in the center of town and with a great “old” restaurant feel. As mentioned below, service is slow but this is Europe and you just go with the flow. We had the traditional sausahttp://c1.tacdn.com/img2/x.gifge plate, soup and a great chicken dish.
