I was in town site seeing and dropped in here for a quick coffee and snack. Both were amazingly dellicious. The staff were courteous and friendly and it was a most enjoyable snack. The location (on a square surrounded by old architecture) was perfect. I can't speak for the full menu, but it is as good as the pastry, then... More

Like a lot of American protestants, we thought it would be a highlight to stop in Wittenberg, place of Martin Luther fame, for church on Sunday. The service was not very inspiring, but lunch at Tante Emma's was a fun experience. Tante Emma's is like visiting your old aunt. The decor looks like it has been acquired at estate sales... More

Walked in with family of four, intending to have food and drinks. Place was busy but not packed. After 5 minutes of being ignored while trying to speak with an employee, we were finally told in rude words that we should leave as it should be obvious that there is no space available. We did leave.

The restaurant is about the next from Church of Wittenberg's main entrance. Nice decoration, kind and attentive service. And the food was a surprise - nice German food done in a simple way, as it should, from good raw materials. If I were living in this city, this would be my living room....

The food was typical german and very tasty. All the dishes we ordered were well prepared and the portions we big enough to satisfy our hunger.

Traditional comfort food done the German way. It's a fun little place, like eating in your grandmother's living room. Staff are super friendly and teamed up to answer my food allergy questions in English. Pork steak and potatoes wedges were delicious and exactly what I needed after a few days of so-so food. Great place to hang out and talk... More

Very tasty food, open late. Staff was helpful. This is not an open restaurant - it is kind of close inside - but the food is good and the atmosphere is definitely different. I think they have outside service, but i'm not positive. It was cold and windy when we were there and no one was outside.

We stopped in for a cup of coffee and a snack. This place is decorated so uniquely! It's like sitting in your Grandma's kitchen. The food was outstanding - we had the mini chicken pot pie and some excellent coffee. Great location right on the square. Wish we had a chance to go back!

On a trip to Wittenberg, called in here for a drink, coffee and cake. Pleasant enough, with good, efficient and friendly staff. Cake was lovely and the coffee and beers enjoyable. Positioned well within the city, near one of the main squares. But then there's the décor. This has been decorated by the same person who does all the great-aunt's... More

We were a group visiting Lutherstadt, and after museums and church es, part of the group eventually sat at Tanta Emma, outside, and enjoyed the surrounding Plaza view, and a very friendly and efficient service. Food was interesting and good.
