Went to Paulaner to dinner on a week night and had the Schweinshaxe mit sauerkraut and it was good. The place is located in Leipzig´s restaurant area but in a wider street which makes it calmer and quieter. Nevertheless is a very good option for a nice meal and worth to try it. The price/quality ratio is also very good.

We always try to find a Paulaner when in Germany. After visiting Munich this an awesome place to get Bavarian cuisine. Clean, spacious, good service, great food excellent beer, almost surgically clean toilets. I have no idea how some people rated this 3stars. Paulaner restaurants are Consistently excellent, Bremen, Frankfurt now Leipzig. If you like traditional German food and world... More

The service was OK; but the served beer was really "better". Today it was'nt easy to find place in a restaurant; but this one, was a really good one.

The restaurant is designed to look like a Bavarian beerhall/ restaurant which has its charm if you like that sort of place. The food was pretty awful. the steak I had was rare and not medium the way I ordered it. It came with some decent pfifferlinge and onions and rosemary potatoes that were dripping in oil. No vegetables at... More

I had the sauerbraten and it was great. Restaurant has a lot of atmosphere and is conveniently located near the center. Our waiter could have been friendlier, but the food was good, it was very clean, and the menu was extensive. Would go back in a heart beat and try the schnitzel next time.

We dived in here just before it started raining on our evening in Leipzig while interrailing. Waiter was friendly, got us seated quickly, took orders & served in a timely manner, offered to top up beers at regular intervals. It was quiet, and he did his job without being obtrusive and pushy. Beer was excellent.

This place is a good, typical German beer hall. I had the "Ludwig Koenig" which was basically a big, white-fish stew served with rice. My partner had the "Bauern Pfaffen" which was a massive plate of assorted meat including veal, turkey, beef, served with bacon-beans, potatoes and mushrooms. They obviously serve Paulaner beers from Munich which are very tasty. If... More

Real nice Atmosphere, very good service but the food was disappointing. Taste of food below average and the desert came out of the microwave. Would not eat there again. Good beer though. Ask for reading glasses, they provide it :). Decent prices.

Great 'old time' atmosphere, good German type food. Price is reasonable. Location in centre of city, close to old city hall.
