I went today because I was looking for gyozas. The restaurant looks very cool modern and clean. Then came the service ... for kids there is nothing simple. If you have kids you are usually looking for some type of tempura chicken or fish, nothing...More

Sorry guys, i am normally compelled to review when a restaurant is well below my expectations and I’m alone so have time to input right away. This is a far from an authentic experience. No need to travel to Japan for the real thing... You...More

Hello, what does authentic mean to you? The problem with authenticity is, there is no true one. That is a personal as it gets. There is also not ONE true and right ramen recipe, if you ask us. Everyone is trying their best, at least...More

We're big fans of ramen and eat it on the regular. The ramen at Umaii tasted like leftover dishwater with a dash of salt. Totally inauthentic. We've both had €1 packaged ramen with more taste. Ramen had spinach in it - which is a slap...More

Hey, sorry to hear that. We KINDLY say Sorry that you had such a bad experience - pretty sure you are a very nice and pleasant person in real life! All the best! Best regards Susann Haentzsch

They offer essentially many different Ramen dishes. I think there are too many varieties to do them all in very good quality... Mine was a simple one but did not have the reach taste of the original that fills your tummy. :-( If you know...More

A very nice selection of ramen with interesting toppings. Not overly salty and quite nice broth. Service was good.

The ramen in this restaurant feel authentic and filling. The portions are generous and the prices are ok for the quality. The wooden spoon is quite cute too. It's worth trying

We were intrigued to see Umaii listed on the culture trip website as being in the top 10 best restaurants in Leipzig. As we were getting rather tired of heavy, hearty German fare, we headed off to Umaii as we love Japanese food. Do not...More

After a few nights out with protein dishes, we fancied a bit vegetarian and soup. This is a good place to go. The Ramen was nice and prepared fresh, generous portion and friendly service.

Check your expectations of authentic Japanese ramen at the door: as an alternative to the usual hearty German fare, the noodle soups make for a relatively inexpensive meal. Some ingredients used are not the usual found in ramen, although the raw carrots, snow peas, spinach...More

I should say that I am not a Ramen expert. However I tried two soups, and one in particular was hardly edible, it was just hot water and something like half a liter of soy sauce. The other wasn't great either. However the place is...More
