Traditional restaurant and excellent food, you will not be disappointed, the staff are knowledgeable about the dishes, if the put table clothes on the tables it would have a higher michelin guide rating

I can recommend this place. I was looking for a place to have traditional food and stumbled into the Thüringer Hof. It looks like a brewery tipe of place. Dark Wood and traditional paintings are dominating the place. You find the kind of food tourists like me are looking for (Traditional German food). I had a "Sauerbraten" with Thüringer Klösse... Centrally located, in an old building with traditional but comfortable setting, has great local beer and solid food mostly from Thuringia and Saxony. I had lunch with a salad and wiener schnitzel: both were well prepared and the portions huge. The service was efficient.

The restaurant is charmingly decorated without being overly cluttered. The warm and inviting atmosphere was one of the main reasons we chose Thüringer Hof over a few other places. We arrived right in the middle of the dinner rush, which was a concern of our; however, quick and friendly service was not an issue at all. A staff member came... More

I went there for dinner with some colleagues at a rather late hour for Germany (slightly after 8). Place was quietly busy so we were seated and served pretty quickly. Being French, we all went for local dishes and each of us was satisfied by the quality as well as the quantity. Comfortable setting as well as reasonable prices: good... More

The staff were occupied by large groups of what seemed to be German tourists, so service was not fast and we were in a rush. Pleasant service, unexceptional food but not expensive.

If you like the hearty fare, Central Germany is famous for - here you are alright. Despite the fact that Thuringia is adjacent to Saxonia, Leipzig is belonging to, the character of the fare is not as such as different. But of cause there are other specialities than the Saxonian are. We had some game and cape of rump, and... More

Great choice if you want to try good German food. Portions are really huge and prices are decent. We enjoyed our meal a lot!

Looked great from the outside, and a typical historical German restaurant. Inside it is large with very high ceilings, which made it feel a bit soulless, although it wasn't full when we ate there. Service very slow and ponderous, and it took an age to get our orders taken even though it was less than half full. The staff were... More

Around the corner from Thomaskirche, and visited the day after the German holiday. Not too busy and beer came fairly promptly. Food took a little longer for a rather modest portion. Personally it was enough for me but some might find it not generous enough.
