Great atmosphere, very cozy and modern look. The food was simply magical, there's a minimum of 5 to 6 flavors in each and every bite. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the Chef still managed to ensure heterogeneity in texture. I hope they earn their...second star soon. I think it goes without saying that you're going to be paying a lot more than in your usual pizzeria visit, but it's totally worth it! Will absolutely visit again.More

We normally don't give 5 stars or excessive praise to a restaurant. However, Genuss-Atelier has earned it. I lack words to describe how perfect and excellent everything was. The restaurant is located in a stone vaulted ceiling cellar that has excellent ambiance, especially for couples....Nice accents compliment the room without being overly dominant. The co-owner manages the front of the house. She is personable, helpful and as you would expect extremely knowledgable on all the food and wines. The wine list is exclusively local, and yes there are not only world class whites, Saxony also has excellent reds. We ordered a 5 course and 4 course surprise menu and I ordered the accompanying 5 wines. My wife elected to go by the glass and wishes she went with the wines so something to consider. Each wine was unique in its own way, some with subtle differences and my wife and I as wine lovers really enjoyed that aspect of the meal. Each course was indescribable. Artistically presented on nice plates; great balance of tastes, salty, sweet, sour, bitter, and a word I hate, umami; then layers of textures; all very well seasoned and I'm a seasoning freak. They also did a great job of making every day ingredients like pumpkin taste and feel fantastic, along with combining unique ingredients, some I couldn't identify and some I had to google. We've had the luxury of eating in some great restaurants in our lives, and it is not an exaggeration to say this was a top meal and dining experience of all time! When we plan a return trip to Dresden it will be around the availability of getting a reservation here. That is not an exaggeration, it was that fantastic. As an American living in Germany I consider the price beyond fair. This meal in Boston, NYC, etc. would be double, if not triple the price.More

Highly sophisticated meal that I’m more used to in places like New York or London, in a charming garden patio alongside the Elbe River (no view of the river). The owners are lovely and run a friendly, professional and highly upscale restaurant. Worth a visit.

Off from the historic city centre, located in the old masonry basement of an insignificant building, you will be overwhelmed by the gastronomic excellence of the place. Inventive kitchen with love and craftsmanship, excellent service and the wine pairing with wines from the region. You...may choose the size of your gastronomic indulgement from 3 to 8 courses. We were very very pleased with 6.More

Just after the end of Covid-19 lockdown, a (vegan) friend and I (non vegetarian) went there, and not for the first time. As usual, we took the unknown set menu. Both menus were outstanding, the waitress was knowledgable and relaxed and nice. I wanted to...know how they did the (excellent) smoked duck breast, then the cook came to the table to explain and after dinner he turned up again to show and explain the smoker they used. We will be back there again!More

For me holidays are special periods, when I relax with my family and we experience the best in visiting and eating as well. This restaurant was a new experience that we appreciate like the best one. We discovered the Michelin star it has, when we...where living 😉, but during the time spent there, as we were treated, the quality of food, the tastes, everything said it is not an usual restaurant. We selected the surprise menu from their Chef and enjoyed maximum every bit. Iacob, was one of the team member that took care of us and made us feel special. What I like also, in the menu you have the entire team with photos, names and their short “history”. And every one here is behaving natural, they are doing what they like, not what they must, it gives a special energy to you and the way you feel. Come here and enjoy, if you are a person with fine tastes! We will come back when we will be nearby!😘More

If you are looking for the best that Dresden and Saxony have to offer, or just an excellent and creative dinner in an intimate setting, look no further. Genuss-Atelier is a little more than a mile from the center of the old town in Dresden....You can get there by public transportation, but simply took a quick cab ride. The trip is very much worth it. This is the kind of experience where they do everything right in the details. The restaurant is in the cellar, which is wonderfully romantic with arched ceilings and lots of stonework. We arrived to find our name on stones on the table. The menu is one of the few I've seen with footnotes explaining what is in some of the entrees. They start with traditional fare, but the ingredients and presentation are all wonderfully creative and perfectly prepared. You'll want to try the local wines while you are here. Why? First, they are excellent and will go great with the food. Second, most of the production is consumed locally, so you won't be able to find at home what you will see here on the menu. The wait staff is very knowledgeable, so ask them for a recommendation. Speaking of staff, our service was great with the right amount of genuine enthusiasm, attention, and letting us simply enjoy the meal. As of the time I am writing this review, this is the number one ranked restaurant in Dresden and it firmly belongs there. Dresden is a wonderful city that is undiscovered by most Americans. Our visit here was one of the highlights of our trip.More

Seeing the high number of positive reviews we had high expectations and were not disappointed. Extraordinary unusual taste compositions. In case you like surprises - take the 5 course menu, every dish as well as the amouse Boucher a taste explosion in the mouth. We...loved the carrot / rabbit starter as well as the tatar with fish and ... We relied on accompanying wines for each dish as we didn’t know any of the sacsonian wines - they fitted very well, another positive surprise. Knowledgeable, friendly service. Nice setting in a brick cellar less than 10min rom the Center with the tram. A must-go for food connoisseurs in Dresden.More
