The service, food and drink were good. Very reasonable price. It was very busy maybe that's why it took almost 45 minutes to get our food.

Came here after coming off one of the Elbe boat trips. Very friendly waitress who made me feel comfortable as I was dining alone. The place is very Traditional looking serving typical German food (lots of sausages and Pork). I went for the mixed grill...which had sausage, Pork Medallion, Bacon, onion rings, Green Beans, Mushrooms and Fried Potatoes. I’ve had better meals but it was decent and just about the right amount for me. I had a couple of the local beers to go with it. Certainly not fine dining but it hit the spot and I’d certainly go back if I’m ever in Dresden again.More

Tourist trap! To be avoided. We were craving a traditional German dinner and made a wrong decision in regards of service, so we didn’t even try the food. We paid nearly 9€ for 2 drinks and waited for almost 40 mins but the waitress never...came back, we ended un leaving. If you are looking for a nice environment and service, avoid this place.More

If you visit a new city / region, you might want to try regional food and this restaurant is very suitable for that. Maybe it looks not very special, but the food is home-made and tastes very good! The portions are reasonable and so are...the prices. So good that you go there twice - like me...More

It was my first dinner at a German restaurant and I should say it's ok. I was very sceptical about it but I was impressed. The food was good except for the butter spatulas, not for me but everything else was good. The pretzel was...amazing, crunchy, hot, delicious. The staff was polite and they spoke English and they were nice. The place is right in the center so u can go touring and then come back to have a great meal. Really nice guys, keep it going.More

This was a very busy restaurant as the Christmas Markets were open and Dresden was very crowded but we really enjoyed being there. The staff was quite busy but our waiter was very friendly. There were three of us and we all ordered something different...and we were all pleased with our meal. I would suggest making a reservation.More

This place spoiled our last dinner in Dresden with its poor service, very slow and unfriendly. We sat down shortly before 6pm and it was almost an hour until our food arrived. After the main course we were keen to order desserts but more than...30min after finishing our dishes the waiter still hadn't shown up again. In the end we left without dessert. I went to the cash register to pay and when I said we were unhappy with the service there wasn't even an acknowledge, never mind an apology. Tourist trap! To be avoided!More

We came to Dresden for one day with a friend of mine and wanted to have traditional German lunch. We had the table by the door and it was very cold, however there were no spots open at the moment. Later on, we wanted to...change it, the waitress said she’ll sit other people with us, as that was the table for four. Five minutes after the table was given to the couple. Okay. We expected the food to be okay, at least, as we waited forever, but it was not tasty at all. So, experience about Dresden was spoiled. Don’t go here if u don’t want ur mode to be spoiled.More

Good service - although indoors wasn't that busy. It was nice and cool though bearing in mind the summer heat outside. Solid portions of hearty Saxon food supported by good beer. Could have had a bit more atmosphere but I imagine it rocks when busy....Pricing not too shabby given the location right in the city centre.More

Tons of atmosphere, and located just off the main square in old town. We were seated immediately. We ordered a meat platter, with green beans, potatoes and onion rings which was more than enough for two people, and well priced for what we received, especially...considering it's very "touristy" location. The platter contained smoked pork, pork roast, bacon, and sausages. Each was delicious. Service typically German. Efficient, not overly effusive. I'd happily eat here again.More

Nice spot in the center of the city. Nice food, medium prize, characteristic interior, but not so good welcoming. Maybe because I was a tourist? Maybe because I was alone? I don't know. They forgot about me after a while.

We stopped in Dresden on our way to Nuremberg to take in a few sights, stretch a bit and have a typical German meal. Headed down to the absolutely superb centrum square to look for a place to dine. Well....this restaurant Kutscherschanke looked busy which...is always a good sign. Wow, our meal was simply superb having shared with my wife some Goulash soup, a schnitzel with potatoes fried, a small platter of homemade meatballs in tasty comatose sauce, desert to die for and of course some beer. Do not miss out on the very classy German / Bavarian style kitchen that is super clean and very well priced for what you order. Well above any of our expectations and we are seasoned Canadian travellers.More

Despite being a very busy place we found on our two visits that this place was an ideal evening venue. Even though it is situated on Dresden's "eat street" in the heart of the Altstadt, there were easily as many local diners as there were...tourists like us - always a good sign. It is decorated in traditional olde German style and the staff were similarly dressed. Even though it was very busy, we were well served with good German food. Portions were large and the food came piping hot. And the beer was good! To be recommended.More

The restaurant is lovely and had a great atmosphere. We were served promptly and enjoyed two lovely beers. Unfortunately when we asked the waitress for our bill (woman with short black hair, middle aged and wore glasses, served us on 08.09.2019), she handed us the...receipt and we paid with a Euro note and she stole our money. She did not give us our change. She just took the Euro note, said goodbye and walked away quickly before we could even realise what she had done. We felt so confused that she ran off and did not know what to do. We feel very cheated and upset by this as this is the first time we have ever visited Dresden and our first night here. We will not be coming to this restaurant again. Waitresses should not be stealing customers money!More
