Nice location and you step back in time upon entering this restaurant. The place was crowded when we visited, but service was still good and we thoroughly enjoyed our traditional meals. Warm decor and great beer made for a pleasant experience.

This location on a warm Summer night is stunning...it is in the middle of Old Town. The service was friendly and good...and they could speak English. The food was mixed from excellent with the Camembert cheese starter and a very good half roast chicken to a mediocre special of the day, roast suckling pig which had avery strong beer sauce... More

The food is authentic and the dirndel-dressed waitresses attentive. Have eaten here many times with business friends. Our joint favourite is the gigantic Bavarian style crispy duck which is so succulent that we have no trouble cleaning the plates. The location is perfect, especially when you can sit outside in the central square and admire the monuments.

Great hamburger, husband dinner was great also. Nice wine and service. Pit higher price for this area but would go there again.

The big plus for this place is the location. The food is Bavarian and thus not typical for the area. Service is ok, albeit a bit slow. The exception were the Chanterelles in a cream sauce with bread dumplings. A great dish albeit seasonal. Overall an ok place but a bit pricey.

We reserved a table for 2 person (outside) but were told all the outside tables are full when we arrived. The girl in the reception didn't bother to arrange table for us. Bad customer service. A place to avoid.

I have been in Germany for over a month now and I was highly impressed with the food here. We ordered the pork roast in raisin sauce - the sauce was to die for! We also ordered roasted pork with creamy cabbage, which was delicious. The apple strudel was great too. Service could have been more friendly but the food... More

After driving to reach Dresden, we left the hotel to tour the Square and stopped here for a libation. Very nice server and ambiance. The drink was just what we needed to bolster us for continued sight-seeing!

Seldom we got such a poor a meal. The location is great - but if you want a nice meal stay away from this place. All four meals was just terrible.

We had a great meal, some of us enjoyed the asparagus, which was just in season - beautifully presented and all food was of really good quality - service very attentive and friendly!!

Description
At home in Saxony! Loveably Saxon & Typically Bavarian Under this motto we welcome you daily from 10 am in one of the reconstructed baroque town houses on Neumarkt square in Dresden. Augustiner an der Frauenkirche has space over its three storeys in various lounges that can also be rented out separately. In addition there is room in the outdoor area, an open invitation to experience the pulsating life of one of Europe's most unique cities with a direct view of the Frauenkirche church. Friends of our Augustiner beer can choose between five different beer types, all of which are dispensed fresh from the barrel apart from the wheat beer which is bottled. Accompanying your beer you can enjoy the corresponding seasonally selected Bavarian/Saxon cuisine.
