This restaurant is very pleasant and the asparagus were absolutely lovely, though quite expensive. They have an impressive selection of local wines and the staff is very friendly - great service and cosy environment.

If you're really serious about your wine, I firmly suggest you visit this place (maybe after a visit at the Karl Marx museum, since it is situated exactly on the other side of the road). It boasts of a vast selection of wines from all over Europe and beyond (though mostly German). It also serves tasty dishes. Staff are friendly... More

A fabulous list of wines accompanied a mouth watering menu. Whilst the food list was limited what was on there was wholesome fresh and perfectly cooked, although Mr C did comment on there being a little more salt than were used to in his steak sauce. Whilst you can try rows of local wines they also had an extremely well... More

The wine was amazing and the people working there were very kind. The wine sample wasn't very expensive either. For two glasses of wine we paid under 20 euro.

We had a nice stay at the restaurant. The owner was very nice and helpful to us to find the kind of local wines we wanted to buy. After we were ready he even went the extra mile and delivered the boxes to our hotel reception!

Good food and a a lot of different wines to choose from. The staff is kind and competent, and plenty of room for bringing your children to the place (at least for lunch)

We had "Hausgemachte Spätzle mit Ementaler und Salatteller" and "Sauerbraten mit Kartoffelknödeln und Rotkohl" -- one of the best German dishes I'd ever had! They were also wonderful with Riesling wines that they recommended for us.

We visited this wine house to test various reisling wines. The proprietor spoke excellent English and knew his wines well. We left with a few bottles averaging 12 euros each. Good wines, not cheap and perhaps more diligent searching at other vitners would have been useful but our time was limited and we were happy with the purchases. There is... More

We had a wine tasting which was very informative and a wonderful experience. Our waitress knew a lot about each wine and offered more info if we had more questions. We decided to get some small plates for an antipasto/tapas type of meal which worked out really well and were very authentic german and tasty. I would definitely recommend a... More
