Very popular and crowded, with a most unusual and interesting option of Roman menus adapted from the recipes of Apicius. We had the second set menu, starting with green beans and sausages, both delicious, and then one fish and one ham; I don't think the fish sauce was nearly as pungent as Roman writers describe, but it was very pleasant.... We visited this place twice. Both times food was good and ladies were nice. Wine and bear are good too. Thanks a lot!

We had a full Roman set dinner in the cellars among old artefacts. Very interesting food, all quite edible. Vegetarian dishes especially recommended.

In a nutshell the place is very comfortable and really German, once you enter you completely loose sense of time and you could be there eating and drinking beer all day long :) Service is very attentive and nice, really customer oriented 👍🏼 Prices are really low (12€) if you take into account food quality. We ordered schnitzels and I... More

If you are just for a drink and people watching this is the place for you. A wonderful spot. Our server was very friendly and had basic comprehension of English which helped a great deal. We just stayed for drinks. There sis a limited food menu. Enough for a light snack but not a large meal. There is an outside terrace... More

Zum Domstein is quite a good dining option in the centre of Trier. Located right outside Dome, the place offers different dining areas, both outside and inside, lovely design, generous portions and reasonable prices.

Nice sheltered courtyard and lots of outdoor seating if weather is kind. Service was good and the veal schnitzel and pork cordon bleu were tasty and adequate for price.

Take your outdoor choice. In front of the Dom or in the Market Square. The Dom is perhaps a little quieter but better people watching out front. We went in both. Service is good - efficient and friendly. I would describe the food as traditional German - schnitzel and that sort of thing. Portions are suitably generous and food well... More

If you want to eat don't go here. My wife had an average schnitzel with VERY old salad (brown lettuce), granddaughter had a salad with too sweet dressing and good chicken, mother had a good schnitzel, son had an "okay" Trierer Spiessbraten, and our other traveler had a tasty Quiche Lorraine. Me? I never got my meal so my traveling... More
