the restaurant is located in the central Mainz near all the shopping and other restaurants. Over the years, they speak more English than in the past and also have English menu. Great authentic food.

We went here on a Sunday night as there are not a lot of choices. It is a quaint, small two floor space located in Old Town Mainz. They had Flammkuchen which I thought was more Alsatian so I'm not sure about the origins of the menu as a whole. The Flammkuchen was quite tasty as a shared appetizer. I... More

Nearly missed it as I was walking down Augustinerkeller strasse... The food is traditional German and tasty, the service is friendly and effective. They do not accept American Express or credit cards, just debit. A lot of Mainz restaurants don't accept cards at all so I'm not complaining!

Nice restaurant in the Old Town, think Schnitzel, deer goulash, Alsatian flammkuchen - all competently done. Nice, mostly local wine list. Friendly, relaxed service, reasonable prices, lot of locals. Very good option for dinner or lunch

Had dinner with a large group. Good food cheap wine, great "celler" atmosphere - great night out on a Saturday evening

I absolutely love schnitzel, so, whenever I'm in Germany I am bound to have it for dinner at some point! I ordered the jeager schnitzel with fried potatoes, red cabbage, and salad. The meal was very tasty and very filling. In fact I was able to take some home for lunch for the next day. The atmosphere was very cozy... More

Revisiting again after a long break. It was a Monday lunchtime and very quiet. Only six tables were occupied and only two people at each table. The waitress was very polite and friendly. Obviously, with so few patrons, the service was fast and efficient. Our meals, Sauerbraten and a Hirschgoulasch were very good.

After strolling Mainz city centre, we had our dinner time here. To be honest, I didn't expect much but it turned out a good surprise. 1. Comfortable atmosphere with wooden interior. I liked their loft like second floor. But if you're tall, please be careful. The ceiling is low there. 2. Not too salty!! Well, if you've already tried some... More

Well know restaurant which is regularly filled-out. When we went the ’keller’ was closed which was a bit sad because we like that kind of restaurant. Food quality-price ratio OK
