It is a buzzing place, on the weekend, you can really immerse yourself in the authentic German atmosphere. You can see, that local families come here to have a proper meal, celebrate and it is not a fake. The staff is super friendly, even though my German is not fluent (but maybe being a girl helps :)). Our waiter decided... More

I visited in Feb 2017 because of a review on Trip Advisor. The review praised the Eisbein so I decided to give it a try. Having never had Eisbein before (and only seen it on others' plates) I was a bit apprehensive when it arrived because there was so much fat on it. I started peeling and peeling and there... More

We turned up without a booking a found a table. They have English menus which waiter gave us after we attempted to figure out the German ones!! I'm vegetarian and there was good food for me and the meat eaters had loads of choice and lots of traditional food. Great atmosphere and beer. You can buy the beer to take... More

With a table booked for 10 in advance, we were quickly shown to the very rear of this grand-scale, typical Altstadt Brauerei without pause. The waiter was a pleasingly modest and forthright character, immediately demanding the expected Altbier choice. And my teammates packed it away (while I went with a large Coke). There are monthly, weekly and daily specials (the... More

My first visit to Dusseldorf and my first dinner in Altstadt was at the excellent Brauerei um Fuchsen on Ratinger Strasse. Easy to find, the restaurant was buzzing on the Sunday evening when we arrived. We luckily found a place to sit, and were immediately welcomed by our waiter, who impressed on us that we should have some of the... More

The restaurant was decorated with Carneval and completed booked even on Monday evening. The food was very traditional for the region and the price level was quite low for Düsseldorf. I enjoyed the food "Sauerbraten" and it was excellent! Hope to be there very soon.

Popped in here for a bit of beer and for a break from walking. The beer is delicious, unfortunately I just ate a big lunch; otherwise I would have ordered food as it all looked good. They have menus in English.

I last visited this brewery in the 90's and the beer was the best in Dusseldorf but sadly this is now one of the worst. Beer tastes horrible and smelt really bad. Won't be going back which is a shame. Sorry to see a good brewery deteriorate so badly. Waiters are rude and arrogant and do want to serve the... More
