We visited Dusseldorf at the start of October and when I think back to our trip this is the place that stands out. It's a large traditional drinking place completely different to anything you'd experience in the UK. No need to visit a bar, just grab a table and you'll have an Alt beer within seconds! The waiters ensure you're... More

We have been going to this old pub in Aldstadt whenever in Düsseldorf.. very popular among locals.. Always full after 6:00 pm.. they have enough sitting inside and outside but can't get a sitting table after 6:30 pm.. Weiss beer and Alt beer are their specialty..

The location is great! You can walk around the old center and then sit to have some German beer and food. They also have their own lemonade / soda! It's great!! The dishes are huuuge so if you are not very hungry you can share it. Try the "German hamburger", it's just perfect! And of course try their mustard. It's... More

It's one of Düsseldorf's old established town breweries, selling it's own brand of Altbier: for that it's OK, but nothing more! I suppose its claim to fame rests on its historic past, certainly not on the friendliness of the staff, its menu or its prices! I visited with two friends from Myanmar because they wanted to sample the celebrated Altbier.... More

I eat and drink here every time I visit Düsseldorf. This time it was no exception. I was lucky to coincide my visit with their famous Friday special, stuffed cabbage with bacon sauce, accompanied with the best beer in town. What a delight! Be back in 2018.

The Uerige is a solid establishment in old town Düsseldorf and an absolut landmark when talking about German country style cuisine and drinks. We visited the place while on a business trip and were satisfied with the quality of the food and drinks served. The service was somewhat harsh (which is typical for waiters in this sector), but appart from... More

There is a tradition in Düsseldorf that a waiter, who is serving beer (traditionally called a Köbbes in Germany) shouldn't be in a good mood. He should be efficiently make sure that you drink enough ;-) Thus their humor is slightly rusty. Keeping this in mind and that UERIG is a very old term for "beeing in a bad mood"... More

Uerige is one of oldest breweries in Düsseldorf, they stay true to their roots and will serve beer, water and apple juice only. Don't ask for coffee or Coke or you will get funny looks and good natured gruffness. We had a family occasion here and the food served was fantastic. I can't remember everything, they all had these long... More
