In many ways a classic brewery with food as you find all over Germany. We ate outside in the courtyard where they had a barbecue serving mixed grill with salads from a salad bar. The food was excellent, I like the beer - altbier as you expect in Dusseldorf, and there was a jovial atmosphere in the place. Not quiet!... More

There for business, after a hard-day working at Dusseldorf, where we found most of the people attending same Fair we did. Complicated to book, however against any "Teutonic" rule even with a fully-booked statement and some Mediterranean patience we got a table in less then an hour, with some draft beer served in a continuous process: amazing. Great beer, really,... More

Had one quick after lunch bear in always crowded terrace. Earlier eating experiences were supported, this is a must to see premise in Düsseldorf for all Anthony Bourdoin minded beer&pork lovers. Despite the all time rushy opening hours the staff is service oriented and client feels comfort. Do you sports before, next day you may not be able...

I ordered a pork knuckle with sausages, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The food was delicious, the pork knuckle have a crunchy crust and the mashed potatoes was really good. It is not cheap, but the portion is large. 3 or 4 people can eat a two person order.

I went as part of a group of 20 or so people for dinner and drinks. The place looks great and seemingly is always busy. If I was being generous then I would say this is an authentic German experience that tourists would love, our German colleagues were quite dissapointed with the food so I guess its not that authentic.... Horrible service and low quality food. They noted us more beer than served, and also they don't accept credit cards under 100 euros. This is a disurb when you travell frecuently for work and using credit cards. Travelling many countries all over the world many years ago it's the first time I find a restaurant where you can't pay a... More

This is the first Altbier I tried in Dusseldorf. I realized after drinking at other breweries that I preferred this beer's slightly more malty, more balanced bitterness and hop aroma. This beer also seemed to have a nice head that lasted longer than others. In my opinion, this Altbier is this middle-ground of Altbier from the breweries in Altstadt. The... More

Stumbled across this place by chance for a drink on our first night and went in for dinner on the second. Best Altbier we tasted whilst in Dusseldorf, and the pork knuckle was to die for - nice large portion and extremely delicious! Service was as I expected in such establishments in Germany, some may see it as fairly blunt... More
