It does what is says on the can. Great traditional food simple but well prepared and good portions not for the Veggies or Teetotallers. Recommend the "Eisbein" and "Spatzle" accompanied by their in house beer "Alt" this is a very drinkable beer and you will not have to worry about having your glass topped up as your waiter is scanning... Koebes (waiter) Siggi, a German, did not like to work! The Brauhaus was not busy, but we had to remind him allways, that we like the NEW Altbiers more "zeitnah" - but nothing happend. He did like to talk to other Stammgaesten more. Food was good, but the "Koebes" was lazy. :-((

I visited in Brauerei Schumacher in my overnight stay in Düsseldorf. The restaurant was almost full and they said I should take table from outside (because I wasn't planning to eat). The family of Schumacher has been brewing beer from year 1838 and is still continuing the tradition. The restaurant looked very clean and comfortable with good prices. The food... More

A typical German Beer hall with large tables and serving the local "Alt" beer..The food is basic German served in large portions. Not too many customers the evening we were there, but it was the night of the EU football final which is probably the reason. Worth a visit.

Food and beer excellent. Service quick. Seems to be authentic German menu. Unfortunately possibly seems to be a bit of a tourist trap as was marked on the map I was given by the hotel, however this doesn't detract from authenticity, though perhaps adds to the prices?

Like you see in title, here you feel and taste german style. Here is on the end of the week so crowd, you must share table with another people. is interesting and good mood atmosphere. Yes, the food is also very good and portions are big enough for two hungry people. They also have home made beer!

Loved this restaurant and brewery. The food is very tasty with ample portions. Beer is tapped from the wooden barrels and served continuously until you say "Stop!" The atmosphere is authentic old world German. Tables are large and if you have a small group you might be asked to share. (Not a big deal for our threesome.) The only issue... More

Went there for a corporate evening party. We went through the dining hall to get to our party location and boy... this place is huge. Not sure how many people can sit here, but it doesn't matter because this place is always full, so you may have to wait in line to get a table (at least when we were... More

A good experience from start to finish. This is a typical german bar/restaurant - with good food, beer and service. Menu is fairly limited (typical german selection; do not expect a verity of steaks, salads and burgers). All food ordered were of good quality, tasted great and servings size was adequate . The eisbein/schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) is highly recommended! Service... More
