Awesome food and beer. Staff friendly and don't turn away the Tommy with their arrogance. Really hate it when The German Kobas (Waiter of the brewery) turn their nose up at paying customers. Never had that at Schumacher, in my experience it's the best in Dusseldorf.

Having read number of positive reviews about Schumacher, we decided to have a lunch here. I must say that the service worse than here I have never met before. The food is fine, but most of traditional restaurants in the city center can offer the same quality of food with outstanding service. “Cheese snack” in the menu is literally bread... More

One year later again in this nice German restaurant. Maybe because it is Sunday, the waiters are not very concentrate. I tried the schnitzel with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes and was very good. See you soon Schumacher!

They managed to find us a table in the really busy restaurant - a good start!! We had several glasses of their own alt bier and the food was really worth waiting for. Pork knuckle, sausages, wild boar, beef, salad, dumplings, red cabbage etc etc. All really tasty and served by great waiters. A really worthwhile place to eat and... More

Great Beer, Amazing Food, Good Price. Very lively and fun. Definitely the best place we ate on our visit. Don't miss it. Our German is rubbish so we struggled with the menu. No worries - staff were very happy to help. It is a really busy place, so book if you can. However they fitted us in after a 30... More

There are three first rate Altbier Hausbrauerei in Düsseldorf - Uerige, Füchschen and Schuhmacher. I rate Uerige No. 1, but It's hard to say which are second and third as both candidates are superb. I drank in the Schwemme section so didn't eat, but on previous occasions I found the food good. Service is always pretty sharp: finish one beer... More

Having visited beer houses in Germany before, although not in Düsseldorf, I'm not entirely convinced that this one wasn't just for visitors (primarily tourist ones) to the city, but either way it was a good find! Their Alt Brau is a lovely, non Pilsner beer, and once we had waited about 30mins (on a Saturday night) for a table (which... More

Very popular restaurant. It was really crowded. The atmosphere was a classic German and very warm. The biers were wonderful and the meais were also very delicious. We had traditional German food. I recommend to ones who want to feel Düsseldorf.
