A more than friendly welcome with a glass of special sekt that had a hint of liqueur and anise. Both waitresses introduced themselves and took great care of us. The surprise menu with accompanying (German) wines for each course was a real treat. Taste, colours, and presentation was wonderfully designed. Even the bread was carefully selected, presented, and of fair... More

I'm not sure eating will ever be the same again! My boyfriend and I booked into L'escalier for New Years Eve in Cologne upon recommendation from a friend. Although their website said they were fully booked they made an exception for us, so we were already onto a good start! We arrived for 7pm sharp where we were greeted by... More

The food here was tasty, varied, and mostly successful. Fantastic bread and dessert. Fish slightly undercooked. One of the small starters had a rather salty sauce. Quick service, quiet and comfortable.

We had dinner here a couple of days ago! The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. We came a little late so we could only eat the 5 course menu instead of the 7 course menu. Every course was perfect and we will definitely be back here soon!

You would not expect such a restaurant at this place in Cologne - like a perle in the ocean. It is a rather small restaurant with service outside on the street as well, getting inside your are welcome not only by very polite, knowledgable and efficient waiters but as well by a nice and not too exclusive atmosphere. The course... More

This apparently inconspicuos restaurant, relatively small, is ambitious in terms of the offering: the chef is creative and knows what he is doing. We chose the nine course menu, which came in small portions allowing us to fully enjoy each, all different and excellent. Service was very good (though we were the only ones in the restaurant), the waiter scrupolously... More

My Colleague and myself had dinner here last week and the food was simply superb - one of the best dining experiences I have ever had - minus the service which was not so great. There were lots of foams and crazy flavour mixes but it worked and we were talking about this meal for many days. I have attached some... More

Cologne fine dinning , choose from a 5 course or 7 course set menu. The chef creates interesting plates of food from a rather playful edible Zen garden to begin, mussels served hot and cold as an amuse bouche to expertly cooked beef cheeks. Pre desert , dessert and petit fours are all of a very acceptable standard. There is... More

I have been to L'escalier quite often over the years. It's fine dining at it's best. The food is always extraordinary and the service impeccable. The impressive wine list fits right in with the rest. It's equally suitable for a romantic dinner for two or a business dinner with important clients. I have done both multiple times and was always... More
