Biergarten Alter Zoll is located on a hilltop amidst a historical building with a great view of the Rhine river.Wonderful ambiance, definitely worth a visit. The restaurant offers very good local sausage which goes great with local beers.

It is great to sit out in this beer garden on a hot evening and have fun with friends and this is a great place to do it. Some of the staff serving are very friendly and make you feel welcome but the place is let down by some very rude and mardy staff. Go here if you just want... More

It was a simple, fun with nice service out door restaurant. Good prices for beer and snaks. Self service. Very nice view.

Ideal location for a beer and a small bite. Great garten overlooking the rhine. In the summer really busy with students. Lots of different beers and drinks on the menu. Food looked good to although we didn't sample it.

it's undergoing building construction right next door (as last year), which will be great when finished, but slightly spoils it now. OK beer, some bottled, good choice of food e.g. curry, pizza, not just bratwurst and chips

Natural environment of the Alter Zoll is amazing; the river, the nature and the view are just first-class. The only shortcoming is service which is slow and ineffective...

Try a Kölsch--the typical local beer. It's on tap. I had a surprisingly tasty Indian chicken curry with basmati rice. Pizza looked disappointing. Würst and potato salad was great on the potato salad, not so great on the würst--kind of a long, skinny bland American hot dog. Hoped for better.

Nothing better than the sun and beer on the river Rhine! I was here during a big climate change conference worldwide, and most of the German delegates were here when the sun came out. I noticed they also had large plates of goodlooking meals. Pizza was alright. As this being Germany, the concept of small servings of finger foods does... More

As the sun emerged and we were close by I thought I could justify the expected price premium at this beer garden overlooking the Rhine. The clouds quickly returned and the few other customers meant we were served quickly. As I generally find in Germany, prices were a pleasant surprise - £12 for a pizza, salad, beer and juice. Lunchtime... More

The Biergarten is very traditional in Bonn and it is most visited by students, since it is very close to the University. There you can sit at tipical germans tables, sometimes together with other people (it is normal to share tables in Germany) or you can sit at the grass. Food is good and they serve beers from the region.
