Excellent place for dining with business partners. Rooms are in the traditonal style of the 19th century.

Located right on Market Square in front of the Saint George fountain. Regarded as an old-time favorite even by locals. Try Oma's ( grandma's) recipe of rolled beef and home-style vegetable soup with pancake strips. Dinner for 2 with wine was only about 50 euro.

The community was having a festival today and the place was packed with people. It was cool, not raining, and sunny as we set outside enjoying visiting with family. The menu offered local speciality foods as well as more general German dishes. The food, service, atmosphere, were very good. We enjoyed and would repeat the experience.m

The Zur Sonne restaurant rates among the best in Marburg. In good weather the outside terrace offers great views of the old town, the menu presents both local specialities and dishes from other German regions. The staff is friendly. Best come early and book a table at an agreed hour. Highly recommended.

They were out of 3 of the 4 main courses that are the specialities of the house when we went there. Obviously manyt people liked these specialities but to not be in stock of most of their specialities was a flaw in my opinion.

Forty-four years ago this gem earned a top rating from us, for its beautiful location, historic ambiance and delicious traditional mid-German food. Today it's still very good, although a flirtation with modern cuisine about 15 years ago was a bad fit and drove us away for the next few years. I remember the wonderful schnitzels of the 1970s, and enjoyed... More

This traditional restaurant on the square is the choice of many people from the University and also family gatherings as there are upstairs rooms for private parties. Whenever I had guests or small meetings this was the place of choice. A very friendly staff, efficient service and excellent cooking! Good beer. I would go for the game or lamb when... More

This place is in the historic center of the city. It is is itself a historic palce, being an inn since the medieval age. Food is very good quality, service is friendly, price and quality match. The highlight of the place is the historic ambience. The public room is low, but very cozy. It breathes history. On the second floor... More

In our case this was the case as the evening we had dinner there the special of the day was their goose with all the trimmings - red cabbage and dumplings. We were told by our guide that this was a typical Christmas dinner in Germany. What a perfect dinner for our first night! However, the goose was a bit... More

This restaurant is in the midst of old German houses that have been well maintained and are very beautiful. It is also in a University town. The Platz was busy with students. The waiter spoke good English. They had a large menu. The food was very good. We all ordered different meals and all were happy. They also have vegetarian.... More
