Since always, every airline crew that spent the night in Frankfurt used to come here for dinner, and I am doing the same like my father before me. The place is simple, the food is great, the beer is good, the prices are competitive, the staff is the best. See you soon!

Visited the same restaurant last year. This year, the place was spruced up and appears cleaner. More waiters than last year and service was faster. However, food was a great disappointment. The rib eye steak was paired with a slab of herb butter which smells bad. Hungarian goulash was a tad salty though meat was tender. Apple wine was a... More

Was staying at nearby Hotel near station and amid the glut of Kebab houses and Fast Food Joints was delighted to find this traditional German Bar and Eatery. Place was very crowded on a Wednesday night but had a beer at the small bar till waiter had a table free but I would have eaten at Bar as some did... More

I've been to this restaurant numerous times in previous years & always looked forward to it when in Frankfurt. This time I was surprised at how the servings have changed. The same Two older gentlemen serve as waiters & an older woman as Bartender, all look like they've been there 100 years. The cook came out & looked like she... More

I had a business dinner there, adviced by some friend. The main courses were OK (pork knukles and stuff). But i have some observations: There were too many tables in that place, so the restaurant is very noisy, all the time the waiters and other clients are rubbing against our shoulders, etc. The beer (draught) was not impressive, espresso coffee... The staff is very unpleasant, at least one of the weatress. He let us wait for a while on the door, then he didn't ask and put us on a table with a stranger who looked just as disturbed by it as us.

I have been here before and still very much enjoy the food. This time Gert was not there and service was not that good. There was one waiter there and he was courteous but didn't seem to be too patient or happy. Fortunately the other waiter arrived and we had better service and a much friendlier face which improved our... More

Recommended by a local, we went for supper and a drink. The host opened up another section of dining room to accommodate eight of us, the whole experience was warm and welcoming. A variety of dishes were ordered and each and every one was absolutely delicious and helpings were generous. The drinks were also enjoyed, as was the banter with host... More

Excellent and welcoming traditional German restaurant and pub. I had roast ham hock which came with mash and sauerkraut - absolutely delicious. Couldn't resist having the apfelwein either, and that too, was excellent. Very welcoming hosts - would highly recommend
