I spend my dinner last Saturday at the "Dauth" and enjoyed my food (Porc chop). The place is now becoming an institution and one needs to book in advance during the week end. In addition to the great classic German food, I love the atmosphere and the wall paintings. A great alternative to the Schweizerstrasse traditional Kneipes (eg Wagner).

I loved this place, it's very on trend ie traditional feel. Food is great, drinks are superb and the strudel tops it off nicely. This won't be my last visit that's for sure. The atmosphere was very much one of a place that locals go from work to drink apfelwein and get some good affordable food. The food is of... More

What a great place to have dinner! Long benches seating 20-30-40 strangers, all together drinking local beer, eating schnitzels and being very merry indeed! The service is also great and the prices are fantastic!

We stopped into this lovely family style German restaurant for an early dinner. The place was basically empty when we went in though a second group came in. Our server was a little surly but we made our drink order and followed it with our entrees. My friend greatly enjoyed his ale but my apfelwein spritzer was a bit sour.... More

Having read a few reviews on here before flying to Frankfurt, I knew that this cider house was not going to be much to look at from the outside. I could see the looks on my families faces as I walked in but as soon as the staff started talking to us, their fears were washed away. As the only... More

This is the best-known cider bar in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. It is over 150 years old and has remained with the same family. Mr. Schneider, a gardener, started making ciders with his own apples in 1849. The restaurant/bar retains the look of the original restaurant that grew from his home-cider drinking events. I beged my born in Frankfurt friend to take me... More

This was our first meal in Germany! We found Dauth-Schneider in Rick Steves' guidebook, and as usual, we were very happy with his suggestions. It's located in the Sachsenhausen area of Frankfurt which is filled with interesting eateries and residences. We sat in the courtyard in front of the restaurant with many other happy diners. Very, very pleasant setting. The... More

We spent a few relaxing hours at Dauth-Schneider on our first afternoon in Frankfurt. It's in a lovely area, set back a few blocks from the river and on a Sunday afternoon was not too busy - we had no trouble getting a spot outside on the bench tables under the trees. Service was prompt and friendly and our lack... More

We sat in the lively beer garden and was served by the lovely Annette She recommended local food and drinks The food was excellent with Eisbein ( boiled pork knuckle ) and one of the best apple strudels ever ( extra vanilla sauce and ice cream) In fact it was so good we went back again and Annette looked after...
